  • Great value for money

Takes little time to assemble but it’s really nice and looks great in my living room

  • Nice quality piece
Color: Black Size: 52 Inch Style: TV Stand
We purchased the item for our living room, where we hung our older LCD (46") on the wall about 6 months ago replacing our previous media tower (see photos with TV on the wall). Ever since our components were on the floor collecting dust. I wanted a unit that would suit the room size, was black, not chinzy plastic and was sturdy with glass doors for the components (so I can put child locks on the doors) Packaging/Delivery The item arrived as expected in a box that had some small dings, but overall was in good shape. Upon opening it I was nicely surprised. Every piece was wrapped and fitted tightly in the box with foam. All along the edges was particle board to reinforce the box which was impressive. Other that than some minor (very minor) scratched on the rear panels (which I'll never see) the pieces were all in good shape. The hardward literally have 1 extra piece for every size which was very nice to see (and shows either they can't count, or more likely that they wanted to make sure if you lost one there was an extra) Assembly This takes a while. I don't have a low-voltage screwdriver so did it by hand (which I recommend anyhow - too easy to strip screws or scratch surfaces elsewise). A single screw driver works (Philips head - the diamond) although if you only have a large one you'll need a small "eye glass" sized one for the screws needed to hold the glass in place. My screw driver was a medium sized one and it was able to assemble the whole thing. Interestingly enough they give you a tube of what looked like wood glue but I didn't see any directions to apply it (perhaps I missed it). Still with 20+ locking nuts I can't see the need for glue unless you are planning on carrying it around constantly. There is a LOT of screws. I bet there is closer to 50 of them! Be prepared for a sore hand when it is over. I believe one person can assembly this on their own. My wife helped brace things for me, but overall it was pretty easy to assemble (just long). The hinges are nice European hinges with dual adjustments which means you get to fiddle for an hour to get the doors level etc. Hints/Tricks For the shelves insert two plugs, put the shelf in and then add the plugs to the far side. The locking bolts are in a plastic collar. This means they can be shifted "slightly". So rather than bang the top on, adjust any bolt (by bending ever so slightly) so that it fits cleanly. Put the knobs on the doors before you add them to the hinges. If you close the door without a knob, have fun opening it! Finally take your time. It didn't take me 8 hours, but I think I spent 2+ hours assembling and likely 45+ minutes adjusting hinges (it is like car seats - trying to get the sweet spot if lots of micro adjustments) Comments The depth is sufficient for my Blu-ray player, WD TV Live (which is small) and a DirectTV HD-DVR. With the DVR there was only about 1/2" depth play accounting for the cables (which can only bend so much if using a hi-quality HDMI cable. The European hinges are adjustable which is good, but adjusting them is a pain. Since the brackets can slide getting the vertical position just right was rather tricky to get tight. There is only one shelf in the glass door section. This is probably ok for most people, although given that most electronics are now low/thin (unlike old VCRs), two shelves would have been nice. The biggest drawback is the front doors go to the bottom shelf (the bottom is not raised) - this means the glass only starts ~ 1.5" from the bottom and if you have any components on the bottom they will not receive IR signals unless you raise them. I used a small baking grill rack to raise the DVR up 1" (I suppose this would allow airflow underneath too (so not a bad thing given the heat of this device) and put it on a tea towel. All of my plugs, conduit outputs, RJ-45 jacks and cable jacks are now hidden. For those who commented on cheap materials..... This is much beter than anything you'd find at a big box store and I would argue most big furniture retail. Is it as nice as an all wood solid oak stained cabinet (like a dresser or bed)? No. It is a TV Cabinet. Will it fit in with other black painted / lacquered items? Yes. Exactly what I am looking for and would fit in well for most environs. Would recommend this to others and will look to purchase a coffee table/end table from them in the future. ... show more

  • A Great Option, with just a few small drawbacks. Still 5 Stars.
Color: Black Size: 70 Inch Style: Tall TV Stand
I purchased this as part of a basement renovation, looking for something sturdy, simple, easy to assemble and good looking. I needed something large enough and with enough depth to hold a large Denon receiver. Most of the media centers smaller than this were not deep enough. There are quite a lot of options out there, but the looks, size, and reviews sold me. I was able to find the same item on Amazon, Overstock, and Wayfair. I don't always prefer Amazon, but they are always competitively priced, reliable and consistent. The piece was delivered in one (heavy) box by our friendly UPS man. He wheeled it right through the garage, into the basement. Unboxing was straightforward and even though the box showed numerous dents and rips, the pieces were all in great shape. Only two pieces had any sort of mar on them, neither of which were structural issues, nor were they worth the hassle of replacement. One was a back piece and the other was the top. A little furniture polish fixed 95% of the rub marks. For unboxing and assembly, I highly recommend you have a shop vac ready. There was a great deal of styrofoam used in packing, and it was everywhere and, because of static electricity, it stuck to everyone and everything. There was also some type of fiber on everything. It looked like fiberglass, but it wasn't. It didn't cause any itching or discomfort like fiberglass, but we wanted to make sure it was all off of the pieces before we started assembly. Consequently, we vacuumed off each piece as we unboxed it, then wiped it off with a microfiber rag. The mess would have been much bigger had we not done this as we unboxed. The assembly itself was pretty easy. It requires only a Phillips head screwdriver and some time. I would not attempt this as a solo assembly. There are a couple of times where you really need a second person to help move the assembly on to the base, as well as to hold things steady while the first person attaches some of the pieces. Perhaps the most difficult part was installing and adjusting the doors. They DO fit. My advice is to read the directions on adjusting the doors BEFORE you install them, then read them again after you have the doors hung. They make more sense once the doors are in place. Taking our time, and cleaning as we went, it took us about two hours from start to finish. We probably could have done it faster, but we wanted to be extra thorough. I also began installing the audio equipment before my wife had finished the doors. It was a little easier to run wires and such without having to worry about messing up the doors. In retrospect, I'm not sure it was easier or faster, but it seemed like the thing to do at the time. I like the piece, it looks great, is sturdy and well made. I would definitely recommend it and I would buy again if necessary. Pros: Well built, very sturdy once assembled Easy to assemble (recommend two people) Looks great, a very nice looking piece of furniture. Looks like solid wood. Well packaged. Little or no damage, despite obvious damage to the outer box. Large and spacious for a lot of audio equipment. Cons: Styrofoam packing gets everywhere Lots of packing materials (although effective, and even though I recycled the cardboard, I felt guilty to have produced so much waste for the landfill) Two minor spots of rubbing from packing/transit Some type of fiber over everything In two small spots, the glass has spots that were very difficult to clean. Required a razor to scrape off. ... show more

  • I love this stand!
Color: Espresso Brown Size: 70 Inch Style: Tall TV Stand
This thing is heavy and with that being said, I was able to put it together by myself with minimal cussing and some struggling (I’m a 38 year old female with a mechanical back ground.) Don’t use power tools! A Phillips screw driver is all you need and anything else could damage the wood. The instructions are super simple and extremely easy to read and understand. I did have an issue with the molding on the bottom of the stand popping off. I glued it but that didn’t work and I was highly disappointed because it was horrible looking. It was my fault for not noticing it during unpacking. I decided to shoot a screw through the back side and it worked perfectly. I’m sure I could have notified the company but I wanted to be done with it as I work too much and I’m lazy when I get home. I love the simple, classic look of this stand and I’d buy it again if needed. ... show more
