I built this bed by myself in about 2ยฝ hours. It helps to have a drill/driver. It is solid and came with all the required parts and the full complement of bed slats. It feels rock solid and my 4 year old son loves it. However there were some issues. Mine had some damage from shipping and I'm still waiting from the manufacturer to get back to me about replacing these pieces as the damage was cosmetic. What I don't like about the bed is that the edges feel sharp. I remember kids furniture growing up to have softer beveled edges and this bed has only a few. The stain on the wood was even. The provided hardware was organized but maybe label outside the bags as opposed to small pieces of paper that soak up the oil coating the screws. Overall I'm happy with it. My son loves it and he now has a place to play underneath. ... show more

Our twins are getting older and it was time to transition them from their toddler beds to bigger beds. Bunkbeds seemed like the best choice since they prefer to be together. We decided to wait a while before stacking the beds since they are five. Both our little girl and little boy love their new beds and immediately decided they were much better than their toddler beds. My husband said the beds were easy to put together once he decided to use a drill to tighten the screws. I added the slats and did find it to be a somewhat arduous task nailing some of the boards in place since some of the slats were shorter than others and it was very difficult to apply pressure to screw the nail into the board. My husband decided to angle the screws on the shorter slats and they appear to be working just fine. Initially, we did not order bunkie boards but have now decided to use some. We feel much more confident the bunkie boards will hold our little twins better than just the slats. The instructions were pretty easy to follow but properly adding the cam locks and screws took a little longer than I would have liked but I fully understand the reason for them, I just feel a second person would have made that process go much faster. But, all in all, the beds seem sturdy and good quality. We are glad we found the mattresses we did. We do wish there had been some references to the best mattresses for bunkbeds listed with the beds. But, after reading quite a few of the reviews, we found the perfect mattresses. If you are thinking about getting a bunkbed, these will be perfect. The price point was also great. ... show more

We wanted a bunk room with a bunk bed on each side of the room We needed the ladders to be toward the inside of the room and both on the same end. It was not possible.

This is the second bed we ordered. The first was all metal and a total nightmare. This bed is wood and is easy to assemble. The instructions are good, hardware was all there and I have no complaints. It is very sturdy with no sway or shaking - even with an energetic 7 yr old climbing the ladder. Just enough room under to snuggle with a book or play with the Barbie house. ... show more

Assembly instructions are a bit confusing. Mistake in assembly costs time to dismantle again and reassemble in right order. But, once assembled, you don't have to worry about it. Plugs to fit various parts have lesser diameter. They don't fit fit. They leave a little play in between. It should have been accurate for the holes they are passed into. We use cotton mattress, so, more supporters for the mattress would have been appreciated. Product in general is great. Sturdy. I am not afraid of kids trying to shake it ... It won't budge. The look and feel and material quality and sturdiness are good. Assembly instructions are easy as well. But, two of the parts had screw holes in the wrong location and hence I am not able to assemble the ladder and the top guard rail. Not able to use the product as a bunk bed and use it as two separate twin beds :-(. Tried to reach out to the manufacturer via provided contacts, but they are not responsive.
