My son is 15 and wanted a loft bed that he could put his desk under, we were a little worried this one would be too short, but it’s actually pretty roomy underneath. He’s 5’7 and able to comfortably sit in his computer chair under the loft bed. As far as sturdiness it’s about what you would expect from a metal loft, it’s not falling apart and it’s sturdy enough to be safe but it definitely wiggles around a bit. We plan to anchor it to the wall for extra sturdiness, but it’s honestly not necessary. As far as putting it together it’s not difficult at all, just time consuming. I’d say with 3 people it would be a breeze, with 2 people it was not bad, for only one person…good luck lol over all very pleased! ... show more

I’ve searched high and low for a loft bed that 1) was budget friendly 2) had the best reviews. This bed isn’t perfect, but I knew that going in and overall, I’m happy with it and would make the purchase again. It’s not hard to put together, but it is a lot of pieces and will take you a little while. It is what it is. You got a whole bed shipped to you, expect that it’s going to require effort. The pieces are clearly labeled and the instructions are very straightforward. I love the underneath storage, which is why I got it in the first place, because it saves so much floor space in our children’s bedroom and allowed us to set up their homeschool area in the same space. I’m able to fit their toy kitchen and their work table underneath, plus a few other items. I read the other reviews about the ladder rungs being hard on the feet and to add pipe foam installation. I had every intention of doing so, but haven’t gotten around to it. Honestly, yes, the rungs are hard, but my kids have had it for 3 or 4 months now and haven’t complained. I think they’ve just gotten used to it. So I’m not sure if I’ll go back and add the insulation. The bed does slight rock a little bit when getting in and out. However, one of the rails is off on mine as the bed is pushed up against the wall. I’m sure this takes away from the overall sturdiness, but it’s not a major concern for me. The bed also comes will wall anchors, so if you use them, you’ll be ok. It’s a pain in the butt making the bed, but I’ll sacrifice that for sake of having a loft bed and keeping my floor space. Overall, I’d say this bed is a solid 3.5/4 stars. I have a hard time purchasing anything that isn’t a 4.5 or higher, but compared to the other options I’ve seen on Amazon, I’m pleased with my purchase. ... show more

I definitely underestimated the assembly of this darn bed frame haha. I’m a petite (out of shape) woman thats probably no more than like 110lbs, trying to put these pieces together was absolute hell. Save the headache and time and have someone help you. Other than that I mean it’s a pretty durable bed frame. It does sway a bit but I mean it’s a metal bed frame suspended in the air so it’s bound to have some kind of movement haha. Overall I’d still recommend:) ... show more

    • Good Space but not Sturdy

I purchased this loft in-order to gain more space in my very small bedroom in my home. So far this loft has indeed provided more room in my small bedroom, it does seem like a better quality metal loft unlike some of the others I've seen out there. It was somewhat easy to assemble, but it did require two people to setup properly due to its large size. My biggest complaint with it is theres no opening at either side of the ladders to get into the bed. Which is a problem for me personally. Getting up the ladder is the easy part, but getting down i feel is the most dangerous trying to get over the barriers. This i didn't like to much, due to its instabilities of it wobbling and what not. So my solution was to just remove one of the barriers on-top to allow me to go up and down without issue. Another big issue with this loft is that it is not very sturdy at all, its not very stable and tends to be wobbly. And the screws tend to loosen up a bit over time, read warning down for more info on that. Overall this loft has provided what i wanted it todo providing more space and a place to have my bed without taking 60% of my room and seems like adequate quality, even with what all is said, I would rate this product a solid 3 outta 5 stars. Would i recommend this? Yes and no honestly. This isnt something i would recommend for younger children at all without securing it to a wall or something. MY WARNING TO ALL: Heres my issued warning to everyone. Please make sure you tighten your screws at least every 2-3 months for your safety. If you don't sleep at your own risk. I will suggest if you buy this product to use Green LOCTITE Thread-locker. This will make the screws be more unlikely to un-tighten. Also please put your loft against a corner for better stability. If possible secure/mount it to the wall. PROS: - Gives your room more space for things - Decent Metal Quality CONS: - 2 PERSON INSTALLATION JOB - Wobbly & Not-Sturdy - No access hole on upper loft from ladders - Should be against a corner of a wall for stability ... show more
