  • Worth The Money...But time consuming
Okay so we took on two new babies and needed to change our current household from 3 children in a 4 bedroom to 5 children in a 4 bedroom. My two eldest boys were bunked up and my oldest son being 16 and quite tall needed a bed that could accommadate him comfortably, however my second oldest son needed something more his size which was drastically smaller. We looked for a twin over full bunk bed set and found a very reasonably priced one through Amazon and very reluctantly purchased it (bugdetary decision). Comparable beds were alot more money and I did want a metal framed bed because of the style of their room and I felt it would last longer and be more durable than a wooden on. I did not want a bed that would squeak and squawk with every movement or a thrown together contraption that would only last a year. Well once it arrived in a very narrow but long box I knew I was in for it...piece after piece...piece H, screw 8, slat M....on and on...oh I will tell you I had to step away a few times...it took me almost 4 hours to complete the construction of this bed. But mainly because I am not the "putter-together" in our home and I was excited about the project and wanted to do it alone. But if you take it slowly and pay attention to the very detailed and easy-to-read instrutions you will be fine. After we finished we were very happy with the end result as are my son's. It is a very nice looking bed but more importantly, well made and very sturdy. Given the amount of work it took to put it together I know that bed is very secure, safe and from what my son's have said since it has been up...comfortable. They are so happy with it and I am very happy I purchased it! ... show more

  • Worth the price! Pay for the convenience you won’t regret it
Color: Grey Size: Shelf Attachment Style: Orion
Worth the money! I was hesitant at first due to the price as well as the reviews claiming their product came damaged or “bent”/“angled”/“crooked” - I only had a few minutes on my lunch break to run home and take my package inside before some crook stole it - I opened up the box right away to check out the shelf. It was so quick & easy to put together didn’t take more than 30 seconds to snap it together and hook it on my sons jr loft bed. DHP & WE furniture ought to team up and sell these babies with the loft beds!! It is such a great addition to my sons bed and I’m so glad cause now he can keep his remote a book and a glass of water his iPad and a box of kleenex right at his reach. It’s also going to come in handy for his late night nebulizer treatments I am so glad I went ahead and ordered this product. There were similar products but most were designed to slide under a mattress and/or were flimsy looking plastic or wooden which did not seem like it would hook onto a metal loft bed frame. This little device was made for the rounded metal railings of metal bunk/loft beds alike. It is the perfect size I know some people stated it was smaller than expected but I truly believe it fitting a good 20oz cup, 3 remotes an iPad books and a Kleenex box is more than enough and super convenient! The basket is way bigger than I expected so it’s a win for me. I couldn’t be more pleased at the ease of the entire design from packaging to assembly to aesthetic. It is sturdy! the metal is pretty heavy duty but it is stable and not too heavy for the metal railing of the loft bed. You will not be disappointed, it’s money well spent. My son was excited to see it already put up when he got home from school - he knows how I am I usually have his dad put things together because I’m not the assembler here never played with legos so if I can snap it together within 10 seconds and have it on my sons bed in another 15 seconds so can you! ... show more

  • Assembly tips
I just finished putting this together; my kids (8 and 4) are sleeping in it now (or at least lying in it). Overall, I think this is a high quality product and very reasonably priced. But as other reviewers have mentioned, it's a bear to put together. A few tips to make it easier: Think (and read) ahead! A lot of the parts are symmetrical, or at least appear that way without very careful inspection. Only after you reach a subsequent step that requires you to attach something else to two subtle holes in the middle of a large piece will you realize you put it together backwards. I did this several times, at different stages, which was really frustrating. It would help if they put some pointers in the instructions (as in, make sure side with holes is facing inward). The small bolts and the medium bolts are very close in size. Be careful not to mix them up or you'll end up without enough of one or the other. The washers stick together. Be careful not to use two instead of one or you'll run out. Tighten, but not too much! The screws can easily be stripped if you overtighten. Finally, the *!#@$%$ plastic clips. These can go from infuriating to fairly simple if you know two things. First, the clips are not symmetrical; they only go in one way. The two vertical bars run all the way to what should be the bottom of the clip, but do not run all the way to the top. If you try to put one in the other way, you're in for a long afternoon/evening. Second, pliars. I know the clips are plastic and seem fragile. But your thumbs are fragile too, and there are a LOT of these clips to put in. Some of them snap in without much effort, but most of them were really tough. Only after my thumbs were about to fall off did I decide to risk pliars. Turns out the pliars worked great, as long as you're careful with them. They may scratch the paint a little, but I decided I could live with that. Result: thumbs recovering and no broken clips. In the end, the bed seems very solid. I climbed up on the top bunk to test it before letting my daughter up there. Felt very solid, even for me (I'm about 160 pounds). Good luck! ... show more
