I purchased this product because I have way too many coffee mugs. I thought it would be the perfect display to add to my kitchen for as overflow storage. Though it serves its purpose it's quite smaller than I originally expected, but that's on me for not reading better. Because of this though, it doesn't hold as many mugs as I had hoped. This was my second cabinet. The holes on the second didn’t seem to match up as well as the first. I do like it, it should be anchored to a wall because it will tip over easily if a small child would pull on it.

While I am a vine reviewer I purchased this item before becoming a viner. I can’t remember if I wrote a review for this product but I don’t think I did. Pros Glass covers books Not to hard to assemble Sturdy Fits all paperbacks Cons Not to hard to put together but you should use a drill to insure sturdiness There is a small gap in between the doors so books don’t stay completely dust free Will not fit large hardcover only smaller hardcover books. This was a very tedious diy project. Definitely takes two people unless you're a carpenter. It helps for someone to hold while pieces (17 boards, yes 17) are screwed together. 3 1/2 hrs to put together. Carefully study the diagrams for each of the 17 steps or you'll have to redo steps. All went well till the end putting on the last two pieces, the doors. The last door doesn't sit right, sags due to the predrilled factory hole is too big to catch the tiny screw and just doesn't grip causing the door to sag and drop. We adjusted again and a little better. Decided to leave doors closed and not use the storage area so as not to stress the doors opening/closing or it will get worse. Down the road, will try same size head screw but longer in order to grip the inside hole wood. Lot of work to take apart and return..... good luck if you buy. Not bad, not great. The quality of the wood is somewhat better than low-end Chinese particleboard furniture found at Walmart (the stuff which barely has a laminated surface and ends up bowing and coming apart). The main construction of this cabinet was pretty solid and had some heft to it, so if Walmart furniture is an "F", this is a "C-". But for the price and also being made in China, don't expect designer furniture quality. I bought this because I have a DVD collection that I don't really watch anymore but needs to be stored instead of scattered in bins around the house. For that purpose, this storage cabinet looks nice and wasn't terribly expensive so I don't regret buying it. The style will fit in with pretty much any decor, as it's fairly ambiguous, being neither traditional nor contemporary. The glass doors add a nice touch. Installation was straightforward and the instructions were fairly easy to read. I used a bit-driver with two different Phillips head bits and a hammer (for nailing down the thin backing to the cabinet). I think there may be another tool involved, maybe an Allen key, but that comes with the cabinet if I remember correctly. Look, if you're at all handy, this is a joke. I did get screwed up on something because you have to look at the pictures closely and make sure you're orienting things on the right side. You can usually tell in the pictures by where the holes for the wood dowels that you glue the pieces together with are located. There is also a nylon strap on the back that you can nail into a wall to keep the cabinet from falling over. I didn't do this since it sits in a quiet back room but the cabinet actually is pretty thin and I could easily see this falling over if it's in an area accessible by energetic kids, active pets (dogs), etc. I filled up the entire cabinet, literally, and ended up putting some of my blu-rays on top because I ran out of room. Depending on how you organize the shelves (you can move them up or down with metal pins), you can get several shelves for DVD's that have an inch or so of clearance above them, so a few more cases can be squeezed in horizontally. By the way, I paid $73 for this and felt that was a little pricey - $50-60 is probably more fair for what you get. I see that the cabinet is now priced at $90+. At that cost, this is NOT worth buying. Wait until it goes down to what I paid or find something else. ... show more
