  • It's a good quality piece of flat pack furniture, ya'll!
Color: Caramel Size: 1 pack Style: Mid-Century Modern Pattern Name: Dresser
We bought this six-drawer dresser for our son's nursery and we're pretty happy with it! We scoured the internet for a dresser that was both affordable and good quality, and after reading TONS of reviews we decided to take a chance on this one. Since the previous reviews are what helped us decide, I'm going to address some points that tanked the reviews on this product. -ease of assembly: ya'll...it's flat pack furniture. It's going to be an absolute pain and take forever to assemble. My husband is not a naturally handy guy but he is patient and has assembled flat pack before. It took him about 3 1/2 hours to put together on his own. The pieces are all very well labeled and if you sort them before hand, it will be SO much easier. You also have to pay SUPER close attention to the small details on the drawings (which side the screw holes are on, which side the little ledge is on, etc), but they are there! -pre-drilled holes: on the 6-drawer dresser, there are pre-drilled holes that you just drill the screws or tap the pegs into. My husband used a hammer to gently tap the pegs into their holes (which all fit fine) with a dab of wood glue on the tops. The only step that did NOT have pre-existing holes was when you use the small framing nails to nail the two backing pieces to the dresser frame. Pretty straightforward, not a big deal. -quality: it's on the cheaper side of what I would want to pay over $300 for, so definitely get it on sale (which it frequently goes on). Overall though, I'm very happy with the look and the quality for what we paid- it's a very handsome dresser! My only issue with it is the drawer pull edges seem like they will chip with a lot of use. -drawer smoothness: the drawers pull out smoothly with no issues! My two-year-old daughter can do it with little effort. The instructions say that if there are any drawer issues, you can use wax to prime the drawer sliders. -tools: My husband used an electric drill on the lowest setting so that it wouldn't split the wood when he was trying to get the screws in tight. He used a hand screwdriver on just a few pieces. The ketchup packet of wood glue they include was WAY enough to use as the directions stated. If you need to come back to the assembly project, just use a chip clip to keep the glue fresh. We emptied half of the packet onto a paper plate and dipped the ends of the pegs into it before sticking them in their holes and still had enough left over to complete the rest of the project with excess still on the plate. -functionality: Like I said, we used this for our son's nursery. If that's your plan, know that a standard foam changing pad LITERALLY JUST fits width-wise on the top of the dresser. It's a bit more narrow than I would have liked for a main dresser, but it still fits everything we need it to. I think this dresser is best suited for areas of the house that you're not going to use a whole lot...like as an entry way or a buffet cabinet, etc. I'm a little suspicious that it won't hold up as nicely as I want it to as a nursery dresser that will be VERY heavily used for diaper changes, storage, and the like multiple times a day. We'll see though! Overall, if you love the look of the dresser and you want something that's a good balance of quality for the price AND made of real wood, this is your piece! If you've never assembled flat pack before, this probably isn't the piece you want to start with! ... show more

  • Nice looking and solid wood, assembly takes some time
Color: Walnut Size: 1 pack Style: Mid-Century Modern Pattern Name: Dresser
The dresser itself has many fantastic features such as being made of solid pine, without any MDF or other cheap and more toxic materials (planning to use in baby’s nursery so this was especially important to me)! It also uses a water-based, non-toxic stain process, and did not smell bad at all when unboxing. The design is definitely as pictured: minimalist and mid-century modern. The wood grain is nice and the stain is a lovely medium-dark walnut color. The pieces were in very good shape overall, with just a few minimal marks on one piece (the top surface of dresser of course, but at least they’re small). The assembly did take a couple hours (probably just under two hrs) with two people, but the directions were clear and only had to backtrack once due to my own minor error (there are two different sizes of dowels, so when first start glueing them in pay attention to that). You do need to use a glue, which is included (and I believe it was a water-based wood glue so not overly toxic) and did have a bit of a smell, so just something to be aware of if pregnant or overly sensitive to smells. Another thing to be aware of is the drawers use wooden track runners, so they recommend waxing them (bees wax works) to make them slide more smoothly, which I did and it did make a big difference, but they still wiggle a little bit as you pull in or out and occasionally need to use both hands to slide out smoothly (if I was to do this again I would fully wax the edges and grooves prior to putting in the drawers since they have a little wooden dowel you hammer into place to keep them from coming all the way out). Overall, the size, style, and quality of materials made me satisfied with this product and I would recommend it, as long as you are aware of some of the inconveniences, like more involved assembly, wooden style siding drawer tracks, and also a bit of a longer delivery time (not terrible- several weeks to Hawaii- but not fast either). ... show more

  • Easy to assemble and are cute
Color: White Size: 1 pack Style: 2 Drawer Pattern Name: Dresser
I bought 2. They were easy to assemble. The instructions say not to use a drill but it definitely saved me time. My ONLY issue was the paint job on them. There was only 1 coat of white given to these nightstands so you can still see the wood grain/tone underneath. Because of that, some areas look dirty because it shows the woods knots. I will have to give it another coat myself. ... show more

  • Simple Classic Mid-Century Look that's Simple to Assemble
Color: Caramel Size: 2 pack Style: 2 Drawer Pattern Name: Dresser
I do not follow directions well and in general am not good at putting furniture together, but I was able to put these together. You don't often see real wood in affordable furniture anymore. This wood is real though. I could smell it. Whether the mid-century look is here to stay or not I can't see these tables going out of style, because they are simple, and more minimalist compared to many mid-century designs I have seen. They can be used as side tables in a living area, or as nightstands. I used them as nightstands- the height was close to the height of my bed. While the color fits with a mid-century motif, it may not fit with contemporary furniture because it is more caramel (slightly yellowish) in color than most contemporary furniture I've seen. But my opinion is of course subjective. ... show more
