I purchased this Waldwerk mortar and pestle set because it had the oak base so the stone wouldn't scratch my granite countertop when my husband enthusiastically makes guacamole. He loves it. It's a small bowl, really just big enough for one large avocado and fixin's, but it's perfect for him. He loves how heavy the stone is. His only complaint would be that the pestle is small for his hand, but he has big ol' man hands. If you are needing to make large amounts of guacamole, this is not the mortar and pestle you seek.
