Book #4 was a dood finale' to this series. Lina Ford is a very good author -- I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I have always like books about wagon train coming West. I will read more of Ms. Ford's books.

Sophia married a Lorenzo heir because he wanted to spite his parents but his waywardness cost him his life and she ran away when the Lorenzo family wanted their heir back. Buck knew Lorenzo before all this happened but didn’t know about the baby or the family pursuit. So there is only one thing to be done: marry her and get her and the child safely away to California.
