These blades like all blades need to be sharpened occasionally, the design of these blades is very poor in regards to being easily resharpened due to the lack of a straight edge like must blades have, but putting a bend right in the area of the cutting edge they made the blade harder to resharpen. Lawnboy blades are also mulching blades but they are designed to be easily sharpened to a razers edge because the curve IS NOT IN THE AREA OF THE CUTTING EDGE. I do not recommend these poorly designed blades if you like keeping your blades sharp and your grass cut clean and mulched with ease.

I've only done a couple cuts on the new blade, but I have to say I think it cuts better than the original. It looks very similar to the original, but there are minor differences. I guess the small tweaks make for a better cut? That, or I'm just forgetting how the original blade cut when new. :) In any event, it is definitely no worse than the OEM.
