    • Not Good to Block Sun Heat

I bought this to install on my upper windshield as a sun visor. I might have purchased the wrong item as this one doesn't mention it blocks solar heat, although I thought it did when I bought it. I was going to do 3 stars because I bought it for a specific purpose, but bumped to 4 stars in case I expected something this item does not advertise. Pros: Super easy to measure, cut, and install. Goes on the windshield curve beautifully. Adjustable during install. Looks great when on. Good quality. Stretches enough, but not so much that it distorts the circles. Cons: It says it cleans easily, but particles from your cleaning wipe/cloth end up sticking to the edges. Provides shade from the sun, but feels like it increases the heat on the inside. I bought this to use as a visor in my car, to block sun and heat. I tested the idea with another type of diy window tint. The test worked great. This perferated stuff provides shade, but it feels hotter in the car. I live in the desert, this probably isn't a concern for areas without as much sun. I might put it on a window in my house that could use privacy, but definitely not one that gets direct sunlight. ... show more

I've bought two of these. The white one I got for my fusion turned out flawlessly. It went on nice and smooth and stayed nice and smooth. Unfortunately the one I bought from my outback ended up tearing and being beyond repair to be able to try and use. Not sure why they refer to this as "One Way" film. It does have actual perf. holes with both sides of the remaining film being Black. It does cut down on visibility, in both directions equally, not one way?.
