I tried to use this kit to cut the common gold thermal blanket or tape that's got a fiberglass backing, I used this to try to get a clean cut so I didn't have to use a razor blade and the string that's in this kit is not strong enough to cut through a thin single layer of fiberglass mat that the Gold Thermal mat is made of. The cut tape was ok, you have to be careful that when you make tight turns that the string under the tape does not move . The only time I had issues with this was on the right turns when I pulled the tape up to reposition it a few times . Getting the cut string started is a little bit tricky , just make sure to leave your self 6" beyond the edge of your vinyl or more , it gets easier after you have done it a few times . The actual sharpness of the cuts was impressive , I did not want to use a knife that close to my paint so this worked perfectly. The only thing I really did not like about this kit was the felt sticker that goes on the squeegee. It was completely useless . & ended up using double sided tape to secure it on . Kind of a silly thing to be picky about , but it would have takes seriously no effort from the manufacture to just put a better adhesive on the felt . Lastly , this 10M tape was barely long enough to do my bumper , so if you're planning on doing anything larger , I would but a different kit . I think I ended up finding one for an extra $5 that had almost 5x the length of tape . Reading some reviews of other knifeless tape , this brand was supposed to be the best . I was happy with the results of the tape, like I said just be extra cautious of pulling the tape up and down around curves or the string could move , and could cause your cut to come out poorly . Leave your self 6"-12" extra at the end , and practice with a few small scraps if you can spare it . Keep in mind the length you really need for your project I would hate to have to stop the project to order more cut tape . ... show more

This worked excellent. I used it when wrapping my roof and it was great. I couldnt have done it without this product. It isn't a lot though so if you are going to be doing more than a roof, buy more than one
