I am a complete novice and would recommend this product highly. This is a very good brand. I didn't know this until after I bought. Plus I didn't realise how difficult mirrors were beforehand either. Damn. I learned a ton and have a lot more confidence doing other panels but the mirrors took me a couple hours each to get right. I took them off the vehicle which was probably a huge mistake. But this product was very forgiving and I was able to restart, heat up and reapply many time over to get something that looks decent. I ended up with a few finger folds but for my first time but I am happy with it. Much smoother than any spray wrap would have been and much cheaper than having a pro do it. A lot of fun overall. Worth every penny. It looks great on the top of my windshield and was very easy to install. No bubble problems and sticks on perfect. I clean the windshield with a razor blade and soap and water. Then used a spray mixture of water with a drop of baby soap to apply it once I had it in place I started squeegeeing out the mixture and it looks amazing. ... show more

    • Should have been easier to use than it was. User error. Steep learning curve.

Likely this is a newbie error, but this product should have been easier to use than it initially was. First of all I wasted the first 3 inches of the roll because there was scotch tape taping the open end to the rest of the roll and I thought it was "intended" to be cut off. Then when I smoothed out the film it looked "scratched" from my squeegie. I thought this was due to "delicate film" and started over, using just my hand to smooth this out. THEN..... I discovered that there is a clear protective film on top of the actual black film that is intended to be removed. Duh! the scotch tape was only affecting the clear protective film and the scratches I installed were only on the protective film. Wasted alot of this and now basically need another roll to finish the job. So this first roll was mostly for "practice" I guess. No where in the instructions does it say there is a protective clear film and no other vinyl I've worked with before has protective outer film on it. The backing paper is very heavy duty and tough to remove. I had hoped to get the vinyl in place and then remove the backing as I went. That proved impossible. This is not a job for one person with this material. It is very thick and extremely tacky so it sticks wherever it touches. (Good for long term, but difficult to install). Luckily I got enough to do the hood twice. I had to rip the first attempt off and will try again with a couple friends another day. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Pro- easy to use and Black is deep and glossy Con- because it's easy to use for repositioning, you lose the aggressive tack needed on contours. This vinyl would contour but then begin to bubble back up in the contoured areas. Once it's in the sun it will bubble up even more in those areas. you can press them back down most of the time, pin prick the air out for some but all end up returning within minutes because the tack just does not hold. Conclusion - I was wrapping fender flares for my suburban. I have been cutting vinyl for over 10 years and have tried many brands but this was reviewed as the best black gloss so I tried it. For my project it was a WASTE of time and money. I applied it to the driver side flares only and now may remove and strip them so I can have them painted instead. If that's the case then I do have half the vinyl still unused. I may use it on my hood because its flat or just attempt a return. I have honestly never seen vinyl lose its hold like that, especially within a minute of being applied and pressed. Even tried some heat and aggressive pressure but nothing helped. So if its flat and basic, go for it! Otherwise buy a premium brand!!! ... show more

Texture of this product is very useful when living in Arizona. It also very easy to use even if one is doing the work alone. The quality of this product is very forgiving even with wrinkles.
