No camera lights!!! (It goes off right after activation) I absolutely love this monitor! We have it in our bedroom and it’s mostly in a corner on a dresser it matches in style of wood- it matches the room and feels soft (as elegant as it might try to be- it actually does have style better than others!) I have used this for weeks now, and I could return it for a 4 camera system I am keeping around the house, which has a smaller more pocket friendly display (5”). This is so much bigger. It’s not too hard to carry, but I will be finding a small bag to protect it soon, mostly I kickstand it on the counter of kitchen to clean, and side table to watch movies at night. If I have to go declutter/tidy many rooms and do laundry, it gets a little harder to carry. I love love how easy and clear it is to see and hear Littles (which share a bedroom) at night on a great display, so it’s really won me on that. I can glance and it’s just a really good quality to be extra quick on getting reassurance it’s all good. There is a lot to love about this monitor, but it’s limited to one room/one camera... shrug, if it suits your space for that- I highly recommend this one. No camera lights are important, and also watch out for the battery life and this one has been just fine for these few weeks. ... show more

I loved this monitor. The picture quality is amazing and the size of the monitor is great. I love that I could move the camera from the monitor and not have to go into the room and do it manually. Unfortunately a year into having it the monitor didn’t turn on anymore we purchased the 2 year insurance Amazon offered and was really easy to work with. I signed in online and put in my claim they replied quickly with a n email and sent me a pre-paid shipping label so I can send it to them and they refunded me the money for it. ... show more

Ever buy an expensive BABY MONITOR AND CAMERA that doesn't work?! Well if you have, then stay away from this "UPGRADED" VTech VM919HD Video Monitor because it will literally just break on you without any notice!!!! I haven't even had the thing for 4 MONTHS!!! And the monitor is completely broken and won't power on! And before you ask more questions.... This thing is in mint condition! What was I doing when it decided to just give me the black screen of death?! Sitting on my bed with it sitting next to me. My daughter was in her crib rolling around trying to fall asleep. So I'm watching and listening to her roll, and suddenly the screen freezes. Weird.. Never done that before! So I wait a second, it doesn't unfreeze. I try to push a button, nothing, none of the buttons work. Ok.... So I power it down. Cool, no problem. Powers down.... I wait a 10-15 seconds.... Go to power it on, nope. Won't turn on! It had a full battery... But I plug it in, wait a second, (it automatically turns on when you plug it in... Annoyingly.... Every time. BUT NOT THIS TIME!) So I try to power it on, a million times and it won't turn on. unplug, plug in, unplug.... Ok reset button.... Is that even really a reset button?!?!? It doesn't feel like you're pushing anything but plastic... Well it's now been 3 hours, which I had a million other things to do, but instead I've been trying to get this monitor to work since I need to observe my baby sleeping for the night in the crib! NOPE! Broken. It's 11pm now... And I have NO way to watch the baby sleep tonight, unless I like go crawl in her room and sleep on her floor because this piece of plastic is just that, money wasted!!! And it's not even 4 months old. So literally I'd have been better off order a no name baby monitor from some other country and that thing would probably last me 10 years for $30. DON'T BUY THIS IF YOU WANT PEACE OF MIND!!! And don't worry. It has a warranty... You can email them and someone might write you back within 2 business days.... Or you can physical mail them under the limited warranty and they'll give you a laundry list of stuff to send them in order for them to help you and FIX the device that they sold you that breaks so fast you don't even get your monies worth out of it. And you know, you don't NEED the baby monitor every-single-day to watch your child... I am very satisfied with this monitor. I got this product yesterday and so my tests and review are based on a short period of time. The screen is big and the resolution is great. You can see your baby’s face details and expressions very well. The sound, movement and temperature alerts are working great. The reception range is also great. I live in a two story apartment built from blocks and concrete, and the parent unit has no issues in receiving signal from the camera from a second level. The power adapters are rated 100-240 volts so you can safely use them in Europe. I live in a country that use 220v and connected the adapters through US to European power socket adapter, and everything works great. I like the fact that VTech pays attention to small details like adding a small Velcro style band to hold the power cord when not in use. The only downside I found is that the baby unit (the camera) doesn’t have a build in battery like the parent unit. So it always has to be connected to power via cord. And other small thing is that the minimum temperature alert can be set to 20c max. For example I want the alert to notify me if the temperature falls under 22c, but I can only set it to 20c max. ... show more

I bought the two camera system and absolutely love it. The quality of cameras day and night is really great. We cosleep, but I work from home so I primarily use this monitor for naps and when my son is playing in the living room. Having both cameras and the ability to toggle between the two is convenient. They have a sound, motion, and temperature alert and you can set the sensitivity for each. There is also a white noise, bird, stream, and lullaby sounds and surprisingly the quality of sound isn’t bad! You can also manually turn each camera off without losing connectivity and you can turn on/off the light that tells you it’s recording. The zoom isn’t the clearest picture, but for what I use it for I don’t mind that so much. I was able to take the system with us on vacation without any issues as well. The only con is how big the monitor is to carry around. If I’m doing laundry I can’t take it from room to room with ease, however the large screen is nice to be able to set in one place and watch without being right up to it. Overall happy with this set and would recommend to anyone in any situation. ... show more

This is a good monitor. Great quality pictures and easy to use as a parent to two kids. It works on WiFi and it does connect even when I am by my neighbors house. The features work as expected. I gave it 4 stars just because sometimes the battery runs low or it turns off on its own. But I have been owning it since I gave birth to my second born. I used to have the single camera than I had to buy the dual one to avoid carrying two monitors. I recommend it but be aware it might get old within time of use ... show more

We have Twins and needed an upgrade from our smaller Monitor from another brand which had left us tethered to an outlet. This one was a little pricier but I was willing to make the purchase given that VTech seemed like a household name and was hoping is translates to better quality. From a material standpoint, the unit seems great. Impressed by the monitor and camera build quality and initial appearance. Feel like solid products. The only gripe I’ll give the hardware is the TINY kickstand that is off centered on this 7inch display. This works fine when it’s one a hard surface. But wanna actually relax and use the monitor in bed or on the couch? GL keeping the monitor standing. You’ll instead have to lay it flat on its back which muffles the sound. 👎🏻 Then. You turn the camera on. You are impressed by the quality of the display when a single camera is selected, but you put it in split screen mode and it LAGS like nobodies business. I’m talking a full 2-3 seconds behind reality. I can hear my kid in the other room before I hear them through the monitor.. and the motion blur is horrendous. It’s like watching something at 5 frames per second. This isn’t an issue with single camera mode, but split screen, which is a requirement for us with twins, this won’t work. Lastly and probably the worst bit. When you want to change camera views, like looking at 1 camera vs 2. Or switching between the single camera views, the parental unit BEEPS louder then any appliance I’ve ever used. It’s horrendous and there is now way to turn it off. This alone is a enough of a reason for us to return the unit. tldr, build quality okay, software bad bad bad, stupid kickstand, loud beeping on a unit design to watch babies SLEEP. I vote skip this one. ... show more

If you had an older wifi based vtech monitor(the smaller one pictured) get this now, super easy set up. Our older model was a nightmare to set up, very finicky, signal was spotty at times. I frankly was worried about how much of a pain this was gonna be to set up. Open box, plug in all cameras and display screen. That's it ... It will set up in under a minute with zero input(man, what a relief). Cams have a big antenna and a little dongle kinda antenna. For me, I had a previous vtech monitor that I unfortunately spilled tea all over and torched it out, but the new cams fit the exact same wall brackets(it comes with new ones but I just popped them into the old ones). Comes with little velcro loops if you need cord control. Comes with 1 ac adapter, but that's fine . Works great , very happy. Screen if anything is almost too big, but thats in comparison to being used to the smaller one for a year. Haven't had it long, but battery seems fine, will update if battery starts getting lousy.(11/27/24 right now) Thanks for reading and I hope you have a splendid day! ... show more
