Ok - I received this, plopped the VR headset and controllers in it, and have literally never removed them, save to play VR games. This is a great charger but it's also a fantastic organizer, storing the controllers and headset in a form that encourages you to use them and play. Setup is simple - follow the instructions for updating the battery and headset, set up the cables, and you're done. Keeping everything seated is easy and once you've taken it in and out a few times, it will be second nature. Literally, my only complaint is that I can't use some of the nicer wraps for the controllers. This, however, is a consequence of wireless charging and probably can't be changed. This is quite obviously a minor quibble and does not diminish the utility of this product whatsoever. Seriously, if you have a Quest headset, get this thing. Never worrying about charging or batteries will make your VR experience easy and pleasurable. ... show more

Setup: Initial set up was very straightforward and quite smart, since it has to replace the USB type C charger on the side of the headset, and the regular batteries in the handheld controllers. It uses the magnetic type USB connector in the headset. You just plug in the magnet receiver in the headset, and it matches up with a spring loaded charging point on the side when you place the headset into the stand in the middle. The controllers require a couple more steps, but are just as straightforward. You need to replace the regular batteries with the supplied rechargeable AA batteries, and line up the metal strips so that they are visible. These then match up with the new battery cover for each handset, that connect those points with the circuit that has tiny charge-points at the bottom when you put the new cover on. Ingenious, I think, but clearly you can't use just any rechargeable batteries, as they need these strips. These cover points then line up with the slots in the charging base so that they connect with the charge-points there. Just plug in the base using the supplied cable and USB plug, and it's ready to charge. Charging: When you plug in the headset and handsets, there are three corresponding lights at the front which indicate charging/charged. I saw that when charging, these lights are orange, and when charged, they are white. Depending on the charge, they appear to charge in parallel and finish when the device is at 100% charge. Usage: I did notice that after charging it overnight, the charge had faded to 95% on the headset and 90% on the handsets, but I assume there is a threshold where it stops charging and waits until they are below a certain level before doing it again. After using Beat Saber for 15 minutes, I checked, and the charge was down by 10 percentage points on each one i.e. 85% on the headset, and 80% on the handsets. So, if this was consistent, you could reasonably assume they would last another 2 hours or so, before needing another charge. This is just a guess though, as I didn't run it until empty, and in normal use, I tend to play with the Oculus for only 30 minutes per day anyway, so I'm unlikely to drain the charge in a day. ... show more

This charger is great for when you don't know when you are going to play your Quest 2. The charger comes with two batteries and magnetic USB C plugs for the quest to keep everything charged. I used to have to take out my Quest 2 out of the bag and then set it up. When you haven't used the quest 2 in a while, you don't know if the remotes or the quest 2 are charged at all. With this dock, you can just set it and forget it. Then when you are in the mood to play with the quest 2, it's ready to go. When you are done playing, then you just pop it back into the dock and go on with your day. No need to find a separate charger or mess with any cases. ... show more
