I bought this for my average sized to maybe smaller French Bulldog (25lbs) in an XL. It is slightly loose and I probably could have ordered a large, but if she grows any it's perfect. Even being slightly loose it works perfectly. However, having said that, make sure you measure. It is not adjustable like some harnesses, so if it is anything more than slightly loose you can't tighten or loosen at all. I can't stress enough that knowing what size you need is important. If your dog measures between sizes, size up. Loose is great but too small is too small. It is much like a padded vest. Very nice for the cooler spring weather. For a French Bulldog it is probably NOT a wise idea for summer heat as they tend to easily overheat or have a heat stroke. I am in western NY so, it's a great choice for us. The major heat of summer is MAYBE 2 months. It closes on with your typical plastic clips. But also, the D rings are one on each side of the clip so there is absolutely no chance of it opening up when on a leash. I wouldn't call it a "no pull" harness, but the way it puts the pull on the dog's chest and underside is nice. This particular dog does not pull, so I haven't put it to the test. However, if I bought the same for my larger bulldogs who do pull I'd still feel comfortable in the ability to hold them back using it. EXCELLENT value for the money! ... show more

I originally ordered this harness for my 10 lb mini poodle (size small). The fit was perfect, it was easy to put on, and was perfect for walks. She couldn’t slip out (like with her prior harness) and she seemed comfortable wearing it. I ended up purchasing another one for my 19 lb mini poodle/Bichon (size large). He is more aggressive on walks and pulls a lot more so I was worried about it’s durability. To date it’s held up great and I haven’t had any issues. I walk the dogs daily so it’s had plenty of use over the 4 months I’ve owed them. They are so easy to slip on yet secure enough the pet can’t get out. Perfect harness. I’m impressed considering how inexpensive they are. Definitely worth it. Dogs seem happy and I’m happy. ... show more

Very nice harness and pretty comfortable, I think, for my dog. I have a 4.5 pound chihuahua and it took a couple of times to get the fit right. First time I ordered an xxx-small, which was too small. The xx-small seems to fit just right. The return on the first one was SO smooth!! It's so awesome Kohl's accepts them! They gave me a tracking receipt and I got my refund right away. I will say the only negative is that the metal rings on top, that you hook the harness to, makes a loud clanging noise against the plastic closure, which freaks my dog out, so I just tape it down when he's not on a leash. ... show more

I read an article that this was the best harness for large dogs but I have a Papillon mix at 13 pounds. I can tell you that it works just as well on a smaller breed. Very. easy to put on.
