I purchased the VRD501 red dot sight to put on a mark iii 22lr target pistol on June 8th, 2023. I was very pleased when it arrived. Great packaging, everything needed was included, the dot was very visible, it felt very durable and I was excited to get to the range. Unfortunately I was unable to try the sight out until August 12, 2023. I was very impressed and had it sighted in pretty close within 10 rounds. Unfortunately it only lasted 33 rounds and went dark. It just stopped working. I tried the on/off switch, shaking it. Nothing. I thought maybe it was the battery and swapped it out for a new one but, the new brand name battery didn't fix the problem either. The user manual didn't offer much assistance other than contact information and verification of a 1 year warranty. I was hopeful since the 30 day Amazon return expired before I had a chance to make it to the range. Unfortunately there is no customer service. 3 emails and no response. Looks like I'm out the money. Save your money and buy a better brand. Having a 1 year warranty is only helpful if you can contact the company. The lack of customer service leades me to believe they have never had the intention of standing behind their products. What a waste of time and money. Update 9/17/2023: I ended up hearing from the Votato store after submitting my review and after a couple of emails, they sent me a complete new replacement. It lights up as it should and I am hopeful it will work longer than the original. I will further update my review after I have had the opportunity to get some range time in. Update 11/24/23 I was able to get some range time in and so far, so good. Really hoping the first one was just a fluke. I like the sight. Fits my needs well.

Very happy with my purchase. Let me just say up front that my experience with it is for airsoft. This red dot is a great compact unit. The glass is clear, even with the killflash attached, and the dot is bright and easy to acquire. I have been very impressed with the build quality. It is very robust and well put together. The controls do not feel mushy and are easy to operate with gloves. Easy to adjust for windage and elevation without additional tools, just use the caps. For airsoft, I can’t recommend this highly enough. It is the perfect combination of cost and performance, and the extras is the icing in the cake. Usually its tough to find all of the accessories that this comes with out of the box. The kill flash is the big one for me, but to also have flip up covers, two mounting options, extra batteries, and a nice case really sets this sight apart from its competiton. Great product at a great price!
