This is not a paid review!! Just an honey opinion. This is an Excellent red dot. I have no complaints! The glass is clear and the red dot is very visible. Even in the brightest sunlight the red dot is viable and doesn't get washed out. I only need the brightness on 2 clicks above the dimmest setting. The Red Dot on full brightness has a slight halo but there is no need to have it that bright in any light condition. The quality is exceptional. Better than my vortex Romeo red dot. The mount is thicker than my Romeo. I'm not knocking vortex, it's just a comparison as I own both. The fitment is very precise and snug on the rail. I always use blue locktite so I can't speak to the mount coming loose without it. After 300 rounds it never moved with locktite. The Red Dot was nearly zeroed out of the box! It only needed 2 clicks right to be dead nuts @50/200 zero. 300 round it held zero flawlessly! The turrets are exceptional as they have the most solid and deliberate clicks! The caps have double as an adjustment tool. I've never owned a scope or red dot with clicks this solid. Comes with 2 flip up lens caps, tools, 4 CR2032 batteries, cleaning cloth, mounts and a decent case. It came set up with the tall absolute co-whiteness mount. Again I used locktite on all screws even the mounting screws. Function- the shake awake on/off works perfectly and the brightness buttons are solid and are easy to adjust. I bought this red dot combo with the matching VOTATU 3X MAGNIFIER which I'll review on it's own. It's 5 star though. Overall the Votatu VRD501 red dot is fantastic and we'll under priced! You get a very well built very capable red dot for a third of the price of other name brands. I can't imagine this will stay at this price point for long. It's going to be popular. Note - I tried uploading a photo of it on my AR15 but it gets flagged and kicked back. Sorry.

Bought this for my airsoft gun (G&G F2000): This thing feels and looks great. I like how it looks with the slightly slanted back (or forward depending on how you mount it to the sight) riser rather than the typical straight up and down riser most sight come with. It comes in a plastic small latching box filled with foam with the red dot sight, a regular cowitness mount, the riser mount, 3 total CR2032 batteries (one is preloaded in the sight), a cleaning cloth, the instructions, a small hex Allen key and a torx Allen key for changing the mount and attaching the mount, a set of shorter screws that are for the taller riser mount, and also the killflash attached to the sight and two spring loaded flip up friction fit lense covers. The riser sits at the perfect height so my airsoft mesh mouth guard over my cheek has a good cheek weld that rests perfectly so my eye is level with the sight, I don't have to hunch over or bend my head much at all to see clearly with the mesh face guard on. One issue I found (at no fault to the sight) is that I have discovered I have an astigmatism. The dot to my eye is made up of a clump of dots slightly scattered but it isn't that bad at all when I aim down the sight and look at targets off in the distance and having the brightness not cranked up of course, so now I have to go get my eyes checked and/or in the future get a proper holo sight instead (since those don't get affected by astigmatisms). If you want to see if your sight is defective or if you have an astigmatism (if you don't already know like me) you can look at the laser and rotate the sight. If the dots don't rotate with it and it stays in the same spot in reference to your head then it's your eyes and not the sight / laser. You can also take a picture of the laser with your camera and if your camera can see a clear / clean dot then it's your eyes.

Nice quality, fairly small dot and works great with the magnifier (which can be bought as part of a kit with this for a very nice discount). Includes both a high and low mount option and is simple to use and nicely built, but I haven't used it in mud/rain/ice. Optics look nice and clear, no obvious tint or warping at the edges. The noflash is a bit obnoxious (in my opinion) but I think most people either love or hate those, and it's nice that it is included. Also included was a battery AND a spare battery, so considering how long the battery life is on this that's really cool. If you are left eye dominant or a left-handed shooter like me, you may find a few annoyances when aiming with both eyes open with this optic however. If it is mounted far enough forward to use the magnifier, the battery box sticks out on the right side of the unit right in front of your other eye. This breaks up your vision and actually makes it more difficult than closing that eye, which kind of defeats the purpose of a 1x optic to me. I can sort of trick my eyes into right eye dominance and I do not have the problem when aiming that way, so if you are right eye dominant this is a non-issue for you. Alternatively, if you are left eye dominant and don't need a magnifier, you can move it closer and that may help as well.

This is my second red dot of this Kind I buy from Votatu. Overall, they work great. I also have bought other Votatu Products with no issues as well. I did have a little issue with the this dot's auto off function not working properly. I was able to contact Votatu, and they answered the same day and I was able to get a replacement right away. I have received and tested the new one and it works perfect. Great product for budget. No issues so far holding zero on any of the ones I own. I definitely recommend this specific red Dot.

Not a bad, but not a great red dot. The price is its saving grace. The tall riser works well with co-witness on an after-market MBUS on a PCC. The unit I bought was a return as there was still blue Loctite on the threads. Easy install on a pic rail. Highly suggest moving the unit as far down the rail as possible so the peripheral sight is not blocked by the housing. Shake-awake seems to work just fine, no idea on battery life yet. Easily sighted in on 36 yards but I have no comments on holding zero at this point.

This optic is interesting. The price is great, it holds zero, it was fast and easy to zero, and it's light weight. I have noticed that if you compare the view through the optic with the background, the optic is actually slightly less than 1x. It is like 0.95x-0.98x. It is barely noticable, but it is still there. All in all the optic is ag good value.
