This is a $20 product your mileage may vary. Surviving my Gamo Bone Collector 0.177 Break Action Springer pellet gun, the killer of scopes (So far killed three scopes with this gun). I have gone through two and a half tins of pellets with it (~1,250) and this red dot is still going. Accurate enough at 40 ft for a tin can, with a rim fire you could pry reach out further but with the Springer even with an artillery hold the inaccuracy caused by the recoil and the lack of magnification makes anything thing can sized past 50ft more and more difficult to hit. This thing is big and bulky. Larg clear eye releafe. Easy to install battery, smooth brightness adjustments, green and red, green is better for bright conditions. Windage and elev is under screw caps like most cheep scopes will need of a coin or screwdriver to spin. Mounts to picatinny rails will need a dovetail to picatinny adapter sold separately for non tactical guns. My adaptor plate is 3.9 in long you will need one at least 2.3 in long or it won't fit on the adaptor. IMPORTANT, mine migrated with the recoil. You might be able to tighten it down enough so it won't but I was afraid of snapping the screws. Luckily my adaptor plate has a vertical hole for an included screw pin, and the gun has a hole for that too, i am not sure if friction alone would hold. Additionally the scope moved on the adaptor I used the spair pin that came with the adaptor in the space left in the vertical hole with the other pin. The screws for the red dots clamps hit that and keep it from shifting. At this price worth the risk installing it on a springer. Yours might break, I mean this is only $20 red dot so quality may vary. Would buy something nicer for a rim/center fire. ... show more

I was skeptical of an optic for less than $20 being even a little useful, but I am so glad to have been proven wrong. I bought two sights to try, this and the Bushnell Trophy TRS-25 (~$40). The Pinty blows the Bushnell out of the water, and I really can't believe how it's possible to be that much better for less than half the price. This sight has a surprisingly large viewing window, and there's no distortion around the circumference (looking at you, TRS-25). It's easy to co-witness with iron sights or a magnifier, and due to the size of the tube, it has a great range of viewable angles. The quality of the dot itself was also surprisingly good. I expected a lot of fuzzing even at lower illumination levels, but both red and green dots were very tight with no fuzzing except at the brightest setting for each if not in a bright environment. The tube extends past the lens just far enough to block out a lot of glare even on bright sunny days. Maybe its durability will be where it falls short of more expensive optics like the TRS-25, but so far I've had no issues or concerns with it, and for $16, if it makes it even a year or two before breaking I won't be too disappointed. ... show more

Like any 4 MOA red dot, this is not the thing to be using for bullseye shooting at 100 yd or beyond. Most people will be able to achieve good accuracy at 25 to 50 yards and practical accuracy at 100 yds. It is very easy to sight through, light weight compared to a magnifying optic, and provides a lot of value for the money. Coming with an attached rail mount is even better. This thing is so cheap that if you are even curious about whether you like a red dot on a rifle or not, just buy it. So far I only have about 75 rounds experience with the scope on an AR15 and I think that I'll keep the rifle configured this way. What I didn't like was that there is no marking on the windage or elevation dials, and the manual does not say how much 1 click adjustment moves the point of aim. Instead it says to look at the dial on the scope. I have not checked if the red dot and green dot shoot to the same point of aim. Also I have not done any kind of mechanical stress test. (Check YouTube for that.) Follow-up: I wanted some magnification for shooting at 100yds and more, so took this off the AR and put it on a Ruger 10/22 target lite. That's a better match for this red dot, but still limiting for the rifle. There hasn't been any problem holding zero and it as easy as could be to use. Just remember to turn the illumination off when finished. Previous comment about dials not having any marking is still worth noting. Also, click stops are rather crude so it may not be possible to find a click that is right on the X, if you are target shooting and wanting to be precise about your point of aim. My guess is that each clicks is about 1" at 100 yards ... show more

Glass laser beam is not centered in hole in housing, almost so far off it misses by a 1/100 of an inch, otherwise it seems to work correctly, and the beam is pretty bright and goes out 50-60 feet and was easy to adjust and only took a couple notches and it was hitting my bore sight dot right on the money. This has a return date of Jan 31 2026 since we're in the holiday seasonal period. May send it back after using it in next few weeks to see just how it holds up. Will update when have ran it thru a couple hundred 22LR shots from heritage rough rider pistol, I also bought a bushel red dot sight which cost about three times the cost of this pinty sight, will see just what the difference is and report back with my opinion. ... show more
