I have a guest bedroom with a double bed. I keep a twin mattress underneath it. I have this ottoman in this room. When I have company that need more than just the double bed, I unfold this thing and - presto - a twin bed arrives. It is not comfortable so that is why I have a 6-7” twin mattress to put on top of it. Everyone who sleeps on (my added) mattress on this bed - they say it’s very comfortable. So I recommend putting at least a topper on it. But you need to instruct your guest about 2 things. Sometimes the support legs fold and the end of the bed wants to collapse. Only happens when I try to move the thing after unfolding it. Also, the feature that lest you lift one end and loung - we it’s too short to support your full back so it’s not comfortable, I guess unless you put a big pillow and lay instead of sit. In addition, if you try to move the bed from that end you may accidentally lift that thing. It will only go back down if you lift it all the way over towards the middle and then it will go back down. With an extra mattress on the bed that can be hard. And you have to let your company know of that pitfall. I know this all sounds negative but this thing has come in really handy. It takes up little room when not used as a twin bed, but you have an extra bed when you need it. I would buy it again. Just received our Vonanda Sofa Bed/Convertible Chair - so I'll come back in a few month w an update as well. I want to love it. It was nicely packaged. I unboxed it, and set it up in the room, and then started testing the different configurations. I had it set up as the twin bed, and leaned on the head side to reach for the sheath to the knife I used to cut the tape to the box... and the head-side's legs collapsed as there is nothing to lock them into place. So I landed on my shoulder and wrist, and almost on the knife. I double-checked and there are NO locks on the pull out legs on head or foot side. I would recommend getting a couple custom cut pieces of wood to wedge between the legbars on each side against the middle bottom frame to keep the bars from collapsing back inwards. I realize you get what you pay for - as this is not a high-end piece of furniture, and I didn't want to break the bank for our tiny spare room guest bed. This said, I think they should create and include 2 brace bars to secure this crazy defective design. As for the color, cloth, ease of use, and mattress quality. It's definitely very firm, but I find that comfortable. As an Ottoman, it's great, as a lounge chair, meh, and as a twin bed with great length and width, it's fantastic. I'm a wide 5'5" and there's more than enough length and width for me to sleep comfortably. Quality of the stitching and fabric is finished well-enough, and it doesn't look bad at all. I rather like it, except for having almost stabbed myself falling from the random collapsing legs. Honestly, if they had locks, I'd have given it a 5/5. ... show more

Comes fully assembled, and setup is a breeze. I pretty firm, but like firm and have no trouble sleeping all night, and popping the fitted sheet off and folding it back up just takes seconds, giving all the space in the room back. Definitely recommend the model with the lock on the support bars. Otherwise you really would need to device something to keep them from getting knocked inward and having the end told down unexpectedly. ... show more

Bought this as I was tired of the rollaway bed in our extra room for guests. This is perfect. It functions as an ottoman and then voila! converts to a twin bed. It is a bit hard, so you'll need some kind of topper, but otherwise works great.

Out of the box it's pretty easy to unfold it into it's various configurations. It was VERY firm to sleep on directly - probably not comfortable as-is - but we bought a single (twin) memory foam topper, which made it very comfortable. Opened to a flat bed configuration, it's just a tiny bit smaller than a regular twin bed an adult fits comfortably, although a tall person might not fit. Fitted sheet fits well (especially with the addition on the topper). Top sheet and blanket were a little long at the bottom, so we put clips on the end corners and bungeed the clips underneath to ensure our guest didn't get tangled up in them if getting up in the middle of the night. (Because of the design, there is no ability to tuck the bottom of the top sheet and blanket, but the clip and bungee thing worked!) Also, there was an issue with keeping the "leg" at the head of the bed from collapsing with movement of the bed. We overcame this problem with a metal rod (or wood would also work), which fit tightly between the leg for the head of the bed and the ottoman leg to prevent any chance of collapse. We purchased this because we wanted the capability of allowing a friend to sleep over, should the need arise, but wanted to use a very small guest room as a craft room and didn't want to fill the room with a standard twin bed which might only be used once or twice a year. With the added topper and the "security" rod, the ottoman/bed fits the bill. It's easy to convert from ottoman to lounge seat to bed and back with easy-to-follow directions. Once we did it a couple of times, we don't need the directions any more. The gray material looks nice as an ottoman or lounge and the frame is sturdy (except for the head of the bed being prone to collapse - that could use something to secure it.) Anyway, if you're up for dealing with the 2 issues mentioned (head of bed leg and extra firmness of sleeping surface), especially if space is at a premium, this may work for you.
