Super fun to fly, it is my first RC jet and I love it. It's pretty durable and has already taken around 20 crashes and still works great. The only downside is that the propellers do break if they hit anything hard, so I would recommend buying an extra pack of them when you buy the plane. Also I would have some super glue handy just in case the foam cracks or breaks off on an hard crash but a little glue will make it good as new! Other then that it's great for the price and has been super fun to learn on. ... show more

    • Awesome - get one! or two!
This is a fantastic step up from the smaller biplanes and other beginner airplanes that are fun to learn on, but tend to porpoise or fly slowly with nose up. I got the F4U and am still blown away by how easy it was to transition from a backyard flyer, to what may be the smallest - but still amazingly stable - park flyer. I just moved from the beginner to intermediate toggle switch setting, which as far as I can tell, varies the amount of auto gyro-stabilizer. Moving to the middle position produced way tighter turns, and ability to roll out of a loop on top or bottom, but is more shaky, requiring more attention. The best part about this airplane, by far and away, is that it continues to survive crash after crash - pop the prop back on, and go again, no harm done. I bought an extra pack of 2-blade props, and another of 3-blade props, which make it even easier to fly. I've broken one 3-blade prop from a straight down smash, and lost the original 2-blade prop when it when into a lake - yes, an upside down water landing. I put a new prop on, and it flew right away - no problems. You need a huge tree-less yard, or a park, soccer field, football field, etc... for your first flights. I've been flying in smaller yards with more trees now, but it's much more fun in a big field. I've already got my eyes on the ME109 for the next one - the F4 needs a friend. ... show more

    • Great plane with X-Pilot
This plane is excellent. For new/beginner pilots-DO NOT USE THE THREE BLADE PROP. It comes with 3 and 2 blade props. The three blade prop breaks every time. The two blade prop, on the other hand, survives quintillions of crashes. For beginners, this plane is great. The foam is SUPER durable and flexible. So far it’s survived at least 60 smash-downs and more than one roll over and over crash. Not only that, but it flew over a chain fence and the landing gear collided into it and the plane did a not-graceful dive into the ground. The prop save system is excellent, surviving several hard crashes straight into concrete. A tip is to use the right-side stick for turning, as the rudder is less effective. Wind resistance is superb. The only complaint is that the plane tends to be nose heavy during landings. Overall a great little plane! One last note-the rear wheels are not linked to the rudder, so it cannot really taxi. P. S This plane is not great for beginners, as the wings are under the plane, so the glide and slow-fly capabilities are lost. The airspeed needs to be fast to stay in the air. ... show more

This plane was not in my best interest, every time I put it up to full speed it would start acting like a rocket and pointing straight up and end up slowing down or crashing into the ground. Also, it broke the edge of the wing after getting stuck in a tree. It does not make good turns either I turned it started to dip down and crash into the ground. The remote did not even come with a screw in the back of the battery holder so the batteries would just fall out. ... show more

The plane only lasted about five months then the gears wouldn't lock together. Also pieces where falling off every time you crashed. but over all it is good for beginners.
