This is the second boat I have purchased. The first one worked right out of the box but it needed some tuning to get it to steer an even amount left and right (Originally turned hard right and barley turned left). After that fix it was so much fun I bought a second boat for a friend. The second boat's controller did not turn on even after trying several sets and brands of AA batteries. I took the controller apart and found that the negative wire going to the battery case was disconnected. I had the means to re-solder it, and then it worked fine. Let this be a warning to anyone without troubleshooting abilities.

“New” Boat was delivered with a muddy hull & body damage, and it was missing both batteries and the battery charger. That’s ridiculous. We bought this one from Volantex and another boat from DEERC, and planned for our boys to have a boat race Christmas morning. Guess that’s a win for DEERC. Big time screw up for Volantex!

I purchased this for my 12 year old grandson. He used it in the pool and on the lake. It is fast and can self right itself when it flips. The battery only lasts about 15 minutes but does indicate when it is getting low. Luckily, it come with a 2nd battery. He loves it!
