  • Very accurate
Works great I love it !

  • For Range Use Only
This product works very well outdoors on the range. It is not accurate indoors and outdoors w/ a net. I knew this going in and bought this strictly for outdoor (no net) use, so it has worked very well for me.

  • Great investment for improving your golf game.
If you’re like me you didn’t know how far you hit a ball with each club. This will help you hone that in. So you know what club to hit based on where you are on the course.

  • Great launch monitor.
No complaints, does what it’s supposed to.

  • Yardages were unrealistically low.
Upon receiving the sc4 pro I immediately updated the firmware. As per instructions I placed the unit 7 feet behind the ball and adjusted my indoor net 9 feet from the ball. I hit full swing shots with my 9I, 5I, 5w, and driver. The yardage range was 40 to 110. I hit probably about 80 balls and the swing speed never got above 65 mph. The swing speed mode would not read any of my swings. It was very consistent within that 40 to 110 range and it only failed to measure about 3 swings. I have been playing golf for 50 years and I know my yardages. I was looking for a monitor to work on my club head speed and maybe play some sim golf in the off season. It was plain to see that this monitor would not work for me so now I am waitng for a Garmin R10 to arrive. ... show more

  • Wanted to love it but just didn't function properly
Following instructions to a tee (no pun intended), unable to get SWG mode (Swing Speed) to trigger on my irons indoors. Worked slightly better outdoors, for unknown reason as this is a laser product with no sensitivity to visible light (per Customer Care). Customer Care was responsive via email and offered the already-tried solutions (align the device, at the correct height and distance, etc.). Customer Care also suggested moving the hitting point to 4 feet instead of 5 feet. I never tried this as the unit was already packaged for return by the time I received this info. It's worth noting that nowhere in the documentation, nor in videos online or fb groups is a 4 foot distance ever mentioned. If you're having the same trouble I did, you might give this a try. A second issue I had was minimum swing speed, which I found to be about 40 MPH. I discovered this while doing some chipping practice using the SWG mode. Basically, short chip swings are simply not detected at all, which is a huge bummer. Third, there are two operational modes - standalone, and bluetooth-into-phone/tablet/PC. In standalone operation, the TGT mode (Target mode) does not remember target distances for each club. You can set the target distance for any club very easily, but as soon as you switch to another club the setting you entered for the previous club is lost. This was super annoying. Ironically, when using Bluetooth these settings can be saved, along with other settings like club angles/etc. Lastly, when signing up for E6 using the supplied coupon, it only offers DEMO mode. I was under the impression there was permanent access to 5 courses. Wasn't my experience. Anyway for me, the product was simply far too finicky and unpolished for the price. ... show more

  • A great value of a launch monitor and wonderful companion at the driving range.
I am very torn on the rating for this item between 3-5 stars - that's a wide range, but there's some good reasons why. Before I get started, a note about the photo. This shows the launch monitor at the driving range and it is sitting on the Voice Caddie case - but this case is NOT included with the SC4 Pro - it was an extra purchase. You do NOT need the case, you can use the box the SC4 comes in to do much the same job. I ultimately settled on 4 stars because the value is fantastic, it works well, it is really easy to use and it will help you out if you're working on your game. If you're not using the free app, it works just fine stand alone. With the app you get a lot more information and more importantly is records your whole session, so you can look back at how you did, where your shots were going. I haven't even gone deep into the app, but I have used a few other apps and this one is great, especially for free. As I mentioned, there are two modes, app connected and stand alone. Each offers different benefits. In app mode you get a record of your full session and can compare shots. You can look back at a previous shot and see why it was better (or worse) than the one you just took. The remote still works to pick your clubs. What DOESN'T work is the screen, which is REALLY unfortunate and honestly that's one of the BIG reasons that this doesn't get 5 stars. I don't want to have to look at my phone or tablet to get basic data like how far the shot went. Stand alone mode is one place where this launch monitor is great. You set it down, turn it on, line it up and hit the ball. You get very FAST data on the screen, less than 2 seconds from what I can count. By the time you've teed up your next shot you'll have the data on the last one every time. You don't get as much data, but the key items are there. If you're wondering why the ball went where it did even though you were sure you hit it clean, this can help you figure it out. Even the less tech savvy should be able to get this setup and working. You turn it on, get it to the same height as your hitting surface (if you don't have the extra case the box is just the right height to use to lift it up for most hitting mats). You adjust the angle until the screen reads 0. That's almost it, BUT and this is another star loser, aligning it is not easy. You REALLY need to get the monitor aligned to your swing line and there is no alignment aid. The case helps a tiny bit, but not really. I am thinking about adding a laser pointer or something to mine to help. And getting it lined up is really important to ensure the data is as accurate as possible. It is pretty accurate when you have it set correctly, but the accuracy will go down if your swing line is off from the centerline of the unit. If you have a target you can consistently reach it is easy enough to validate the data. Just make sure you match the club using the remote (which makes changing clubs SAFE and easy so you don't mess up the alignment. So far I haven't had to charge it after 3 range sessions of about 90 minutes each, a mix of stand alone and app mode. So That's nice. Unless you are hitting a LOT of balls the battery life should be plenty for a session if not several. The last thing I REALLY like is how little space it needs. Only about 15 feet total outdoors - 5 feet behind the ball and 10 feet of ball flight. If the ball doesn't go at least 10 feet it just ignores that shot (free mulligans if you're using E6). ... show more
