I bought this 2 weeks ago to use on top of my Mr Heater Portable Buddy and it works better than I expected. Noticeably quieter and more effective than the small electric fan I had been using behind that heater. Pretty quick startup of the blades turning, and the side-by-side fans creates a fairly broad warm air current. The company states it will push 360 cfm which is twice as much as some other similar fans. I sit about 4-5 feet from the heater and can easily feel a warm glow on the Lo heat setting (without any fan at all nearly all the heat went straight up to the ceiling). Having blade guard "cages" would be a nice addition but I guess the mfgr was trying to meet a price point. I would have paid extra for guards (one of the single-fan units Voda makes has a guard). My overall rating is 9.5 out of 10. Now I just have to see how long it lasts. If you buy one to go on top a Portable Buddy: I used an 18" length of stiff copper wire from some Romax to make a hold-down system to solidly secure the fan on top of the heater so it wouldn't get knocked off (I wrapped the loose ends of the wire around the handle). If the fan is used as recommended (on top of a wood stove and not near the sides) so it's safe from being accidently bumped, securing it like I did isn't necessary. ... show more

The first day the fan blades did turn, but quite slowly. The next day the blades did not turn at all. I turned the blades by hand to get them started but when they came to stop, they did not move again by themselves. I have them sitting on top of a gas fireplace stove. The air is quite hot around the stove but still the fan doesn't work. I have moved it around to try different positions but nothing seemed to work. ... show more

The 1st one I got did not work at all, so I had to return it & requested another one in it's place, which when it arrived two of the fan blades were bent. This one started the minute I put on the stove & has been spinning away ever since. It does blow more air than the single fan I did have, but if it doesn't seem like alot, believe me, it does move the air & the house feels warmer. I've had 2 other ones that quit working after 2 season's, I'm hoping this one will last alot longer. It was more reasonably priced than the others also. If nothing else, it is a novelty that everyone thinks is too cool! ... show more

I've had and still have many of these stove fans. Single blade, double blade, and now this triple blade. This triple blade one pushes the most air out from my stove than all the rest. At first when I the small size of the blades I thought how's this going to work? Yet, once my stove got up to temp, I could tell this one moves more air and can be felt further away (4') than all my other fans, even than the "Updated single blade VODA." My only suggestion is that they would route the wires through the unit to the back, instead of running them in the front to the back, which looks ugly. Now to see how long it will last ... show more

I have a stove insert set into a fireplace box. The fans start to spin as soon as the stove heats up. If I'm burning wood with less BTUs then of course the fans don't spin as fast, or if I have the damper closed off too much. But once the stove is hot, especially with well burning wood the fans take off. It really helps to draw the hot air from behind the stove and blow it out into the room. We are noticing a huge difference in warmth this winter with the use of this fan. I like that there are three fans and that it's a little taller to push the heat out a little higher. I wish we would have gotten this years ago!! Would highly recommend it to everyone. Unfortunately this app would not load my video or let me take a video. It kept saying an error had occurred. But all three fans are spinning away! ... show more

I have a wood burning insert. I thought I would be able to set on the upper ledge and move heat. This is not the case. I believe it can only work if used on the very top of a stove.
