I like my morning coffee hot, but I also wanted a warmer that would double function as a coaster for cool drinks on mw wood-surface table, so I needed a warmer that didn’t have a sensor-activated auto “on” function. This model fit the bill and had good reviews that passed the Fakespot sniff test, so I took the plunge. It didn’t disappoint. It’s simple and intuitive to operate, and I find that the first and highest temperature setting keeps my morning coffee plenty warm (though definitely short of scalding). The auto “off” feature is a big plus as well; I like having that safety backup. The only less-than-ideal feature I found is that the on/off switch is a very sensitive touch mechanism, so it could easily be turned on accidentally. That’s more something to be aware of imho, but not a deal breaker. I’m very happy with this purchase thus far and am crossing my fingers that its durability matches its functionality. This is a great mug warmer - as long as you use the right mug. It has 3 heat choices and auto shut-off. I quickly discovered the key was to use a flat-bottomed mug like the Red Wing Pottery mug pictured. If the entire mug doesn't lay flat on the heater it just won't stay as warm. I bought this for my dad who likes his coffee the temperature of the sun. You have to have a flat bottomed metal cup for it but he says it works great and really likes it.

As long as you have a flat bottom cup this works great, if anything its too hot. A setting between medium and low would be perfect for me but I can deal with medium. The only thing I noticed is that the surface of the plate has a bit of a high center. My mug wobbles a bit and I was concerned that the poor contact would impact the heating, but it still works great. ... show more
