This device has the perfect aspect resolution and screen for old games that weren't wide screen yet. With custom firmware it can run N64 and Dreamcast games pretty well. Anything before N64 (PS1, SNES, etc) is a walk in the park for this device. It looks great and feels premium. The screen on this device is fantastic and really makes playing some of my old favorite games a pleasure. The controls are of very high quality, dare I say of Ninte.... made game consoles. The included glass screen protector was also easy to install bubble free which sometimes is challenging for me. Do be prepared to take some time learning about this console. Get some high quality micro SD cards to replace the cheap ones that come with this console. Try replacing (it's easy) the operating system with 351ELEC or ARKOS as they provide a much better user experience. Also note the the games on the second SD card are a hot mess. You'll find some good stuff there, but also a disorganized mess, plus a heavy emphasis on fighting games only. One surprise was the vast variety of games this device could run. Sure, all of the older 8, 16, & 32 bit consoles, but also old PC games too. The old Doom and Quake games run great along with ScummVM adventure games. The Portmaster project also has a great library of games including Splunky and Shovel Knight. The games lists are incomplete. Under the Nintendo games they are listed in alphabetical order (A-Z) but stops at M. What happened to games N-Z?
