  • Among the best values on the market
Size: 65-inch Pattern: Remote
At the time of purchase, this television was slightly cheaper than its most direct competitor: the Hisense U8G. While, at least on paper, it seems the U8G is a *slightly* better television, I decided to save myself $20 and take up Amazon's offer to split the payments over 5 months (which wasn't offered on the U8G) and take my chances with this Vizio P-series. I'm not disappointed. It doesn't have quite as inky blacks as an OLED, which I was aware of before purchasing, but it does get considerably brighter than any OLED (or most tv's, really) which is great since this is in my living room just ~6 feet from glass balcony doors that receive a lot of sunlight, and while there is noticeable blooming with highlights in dark scenes, it's subtle compared to most other non-OLED options on the market and the local dimming feature is pretty exceptional overall. While it has a VA panel which means the viewing angles aren't great I have to say that, unless you're looking at the screen at a severe angle that most people wouldn't naturally watch from, I don't think any of the black level or color saturation degradation which can be objectively measured as you go off-axis is all that visible to the naked eye. While the person in the middle of the couch will have the best picture quality, as measured by a spectrometer and whatever other instruments are used to measure these things, it's not as though the person at your left or right will notice any visible downgrade. I will say, I had to do a good bit of tinkering to dial in what seemed to be the best picture quality when gaming, streaming, etc. but I think that's just the kind of person I am. I'm a bit obsessive and annoying about adjusting settings until I feel like it can't be improved. Luckily, the tv will save multiple custom picture settings and automatically switch to them based on the input you're using, so once you set everything up you can stop adjusting for probably the rest of the time you own the tv. Overall, the picture has great color, brightness, black levels, etc with very few drawbacks, and will cost you a good $800 less than an OLED of the same size. Of course, the OLED will be the overall better tv in most regards aside from peak brightness, but if you're ok with knowing you don't have the absolute best option regardless of price and want to be vigilant about how much you spend, the Vizio P-series has proven to be an excellent, future-proof option and I've not once felt like I should have splurged on a higher-end model nor felt any sort of buyer's remorse. Along with the Hisense U8G, it's the best 65" tv you can get under $1,000. =Could probably flip a coin and choose either one, but I can only personally vouch for the Vizio P-series. If you buy this tv, stream Encanto from the mouse's streaming app when you can. It's an extremely colorful film with lots of shots that balance bright areas against dark shadows which I felt was a perfect showcase of this tv's strengths. I randomly chose to watch it the day I got the tv and it immediately melted away any anxiety I had about whether I should have splurged on an OLED. :) ... show more

  • Great tv!!!
Size: 65-inch Pattern: Remote
The media could not be loaded. So past couple weeks I’ve been home due to surgery and of course I’ve been on Amazon looking around. Haha. I’m a big Vizio brand person. All my TVs are Vizio along with my sound bars. This is a great investment I made and happy I did. Very easy setup. Great picture quality. The price was great for this tv too. Couldn’t be happier. When I do play my PS5 the gaming experience is great. Yeah there are gonna be people who don’t like the tv and all that but everyone has there own opinion. For me tho I was very happy with this product. ... show more

  • Just...know what you're getting into with this TV
Size: 65-inch Pattern: Remote
I bought this TV because it came highly recommended by Linus Tech Tips as a good 4K 120Hz TV for the price and it offers a great video quality but the reason I'm giving this one star is because of Vizio being a garbage company. First and foremost, their customer service is simply godawful. I called their customer service number after owning the TV for two weeks, when I turned the TV on, the screen went black (I mean completely dark, no power indicator on the TV, no backlight on the screen, nothing.) I had to manually unplug it and plug it back in only for the TV to do the same thing. After reviewing the documentation on their website and being unable to find any reason why my TV wouldn't work I called their customer service line. The person who answered me had kids screaming in the background and I had to tell her I was calling for support with my Vizio TV. For those who don't do call center work may not be aware but some call center vendors handle multiple companies. They SHOULD know who you are calling for but apparently this agent didn't and we also had to spend a few minutes with me screaming over her screaming kids to provide my information. Once we got me "Registered as a Vizio customer" (I could have swore I did that when I first set up my TV, but we'll get to why that doesn't work) she proceeded to read me the same documents I just read. When I told her that and told her that didn't work she told me to contact the retailer for a refund. Huge waste of my time. So after being informed Amazon could refund me but would not assist with disposal of the TV I told them I'd call them back because I needed to find someone to help me dispose of this beast. As I was calling friends and family to find someone to help me, the TV decided to just start working again. I now know this is a common issue with Vizio TV's, as they have zero indications of when they are updating their firmware...like literally EVERY OTHER TV. OK, so now I know the TV does firmware updates but doesn't tell me. Turns out that's only the beginning of how godawful Vizio is as a company. See, I already own a Vizio Soundbar that didn't play nice with my previous TV, a Sony Bravia. I thought the Vizio Soundbar would work with the Vizio TV. I was simply asking too much because the EXACT SAME ISSUE I had with the Sony (Having to power cycle the TV and Soundbar multiple times each time I use the TV to get the Soundbar and TV to sync). Yes, both the TV and Soundbar, despite being the same brand and using the ARC connection on the Vizio simply cannot find each other at startup unless you powercycle multiple times. That's just great, right? It gets even worse. So, I used to have an Apple TV 4K, which I sold when I got this TV since it has streaming apps pre-installed. The problem is...the apps barely work. The Apple TV app never saves my Apple ID and the "Remember this device" feature is completely useless, since it (and every other app) requires my sign-in every time regardless of what I do. On top of that, I have all kinds of playback issues. Random audio drops, some movies (All purchased through Apple and streamed from my library) simply will not play. Apple Support says it's Vizio and refers me to their support and, since I am not a fan of screaming kids ASMR and being read support documents that aren't worth spit isn't my idea of a good time. So, in conclusion: If you don't mind a TV that will appear to have stopped working when it has to update its firmware, doesn't work with its own supporting devices and has pre-installed apps that are useless because Vizio is (Obviously) the cheapest company in existence and can't be bothered to hire actual employees and contract everything out to the cheapest option possible well, my friend...this is the TV for you. If you're going to use this as a dumb TV (Don't EVER connect it to the internet) then this TV will work flawlessly. But if you're like me and expect a Smart TV to actually be Smart, look at literally any other brand because I don't think anyone can make a worse TV than Vizio and I'm honestly scared to suggest anyone try, for fear that TV may burn down someone's home...and if this TV does that, I would not be surprised. ... show more

  • All around Amazing tv for the money!
Size: 65-inch Pattern: Remote
If your looking for the best tv but dont want to spend 2,000 or more this is an amazing large size screen tv. It even works with next generation consoles unlike the v series by vizio. This p series tv is well worth money the picture quality is pristine and colorful as you would expect from a high end tv purchase. This has definitely elevated my gaming even though its a little bigger than i wanted at least the full features of my next generation console work again on my tv with HDR and dolby vision and the gaming pro game engine in vizio tvs. There is no issues with lag, screen tearing or the Variable Refresh Rate as i had read online previous to purchasing. ... show more
