Update after ~6 months of use: This light is great, my only complaint is the light could be more dispersed, it's concentration is center biased a lot. I have this in a 2' x 4' grow tent with 2 Carolina Reaper pepper plants in DWC hydroponic buckets, originally I had it paired with a blue/purple type from a well regarded brand. After approx 4 months of growth, both plants would noticeably grow towards this light over the other type even when I would swap what light was over what plant. I have since replaced the other style light with a second copy of this light and both plants are happier, both plants have 50+ flowers and around a dozen fruits growing. I also modified both lights by de-mounting the power supply from the light and de-soldering the very short wire that connects the power supply to the LED board and adding in a 4' extention so I could get the power supplies out of the tent so they wouldn't get as hot or heat up the tent so much, and so I could get the LED board as close to the roof of the tent as possible because the plants are growing so profusely. I also got some aluminum heatsinks and thermal epoxy off Amazon and glued the heatsinks to the power supplies to help them run cooler, I'm really not joking when I say they get hot enough to be too painfully hot to touch for any more than a second or two. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Super bright, nice and lightweight. The driver gets too hot to touch after running for a little bit, so make sure all cables are well clear and it's not too close to the top of a grow tent. Either get this light near an air intake or exhaust port in a tent or set up a small fan to cool the driver off, otherwise I fully expect it to cook itself in a year of use. ... show more

Lights are nice and bright. One of them had a weird loud hissing noise, but customer service addressed it. It doesn't seem bright enough to make cabbage grow correctly, and so cabbage looks more like loose leaf lettuce. They get VERY hot. Like super hot. Had to buy a fan to put directly on back of lights. Brings temps up 4-10 degrees hotter than room. Overall I'm happy with the lights and may add a third eventually. Heat is a concern though ... show more

The product is great, very bright light that has given me great results for my flower and vegetable seed starting. However, I achieved similar spectrum and even greater light intensity with standard LED T5 lights, with the same seedling result, with more than half the cost of this Vivosun light. Additionally, this Vivosun light has a smaller growing space than the T5 light. I tried raising this lights higher to get greater coverage, but that resulted in the light intensity reducing lower than that of a T5 LED. The adjustment mechanisms of the Vivosun are pretty cool, given that you could figure out how to use them. I easily made some hooks for the T5 lights out of some leftover electrical cables from Arduino projects. If value of money and efficiency is what you’re looking for, I suggest not use the Vivosun but go with a T5 LED. ... show more

Fairly lightweight full-spectrum light, very bright! Comes with several adjustable corded hangers to position it over your plants. It does put off a bit on heat, so I've added some stick-on heat sinks to help keep the unit a bit cooler; hopefully it should help with the lifespan of the light. It's bright enough that you don't want to look at it directly, and our plants seem to be very happy with the amount and spectrum of the light. I just saw where they have one with a fan built-in; I think I would go that route should I need a second one :) ... show more
