When I received it I plugged it in and it worked fine, after installing it, it worked once then it stopped working, I took apart the controller and noticed the power wire broke from the soldering, when I attempted to position the wire to re solder it the other wires broke off, returning it wasn’t an option, the UPS store is 44 miles from my house. Very cheap made. I had to get the first one replaced because it had a short in the speed selector switch. But it's cheap AF and will work if your on a budget or in a pinch. I'd recommend just spending the extra money on a better fan if you have it to spend.

    • First one was defective. Waiting for replacement.

The fan ran for a few seconds after plugging it in, with the switch in the "off" position, and then stopped. After that, it would not run in any switch position until unplugged for a few minutes and plugged in again... with the same sequence/result. Assuming the issue is with some kind of self-resetting fuse/breaker inside the switch, combined with shorted/defective wiring. Returning for a replacement since I just got it about 20 minutes ago. Hoping it's just luck of the draw and I happened to get a bad one, but will certainly test the next one thoroughly before keeping it. Would recommend anyone ordering this product to unbox it and check it immediately, instead of waiting too long and finding out after it's too late to return it. ... show more

if you know what you're doing. make sure you install it somewhere near, or an extension near an outlet. i did notice the draw of air in one direction pulls from another area of the house. but i can compensate. it is a great idea and it works well in practice.
