This is a fairly large pad, but is well sealed and made of decent material. It raises the temperature to about 10-15 degrees over the CURRENT ROOM TEMPRATURE. This is important, as I see reviews on YouTube where they put it in a 40 F room and expect it to keep 80 F temps consistently. This is perfect for germination, seedling, and maybe even in vegetation if your plants needs to be 10-15 degrees warmer. To get it flat, roll it out and set something on each corner to hold it down. Plug it in and let it warm (wait around 15-30 minutes), and unplug. The heat helps the material become more malleable and flatten out. I've had a lot of good experiences with Vivosun products thus far. They build decent quality products that stand up to their intended use, at a cost that's actually reasonable. ... show more

I haven’t had a chance to use this unit too much yet but so far everything works fine. The heat is a little unevenly distributed but I don’t think it’ll be an issue. I will update my review after further use.

Well, it's that time of year to get the vegetable garden ready... I typically grow inside under lights for 6 weeks or so before transplanting. Sometimes germination takes a while due to low soil temp. This mat keeps the soil +-70 degrees F and I'm already transplanting into grow pots after just 3 days! I am going into my second season using this mat, and am very pleased. It's easy to clean, and once I'm done sprouting seedlings, it rolls up for easy storage. Heat seems to be well distributed, I had nearly 100% seed germination from my tomato plants last year! I gave away a lot of excess plants.

Good product at a reasonable price. I have plants all over the house and it simply stays cool in the basement so these really helps with the plants that are in fabric pots on the floor down there.
