I used these fans to cool down my office and to cool down a solar controller. These were easy to mount, and only use 20 watts. They are very quiet and you can turn off the rotation just by pulling out a stop mechanism.

This is a nice little fan. It is made from quality materials, it's quiet, and it oscillates! I purchased this one because it had good reviews and I trust the Vivosun brand. The only problem is it doesn't clip tight to my Vivosun 4X2 grow tent. I tried to clip it to one of my vertical frame posts and it was too big. It just slid down the post to the ground. I had to put it on the post that runs horizontally across the top. I tried adding some more non-slip material to the clamp so it would fit on the post, but it just kept falling down. I really hoped Vivosun would make a fan that fits in their grow tents. Oh well, I'll still use it but that was pretty disappointing. ... show more

I'm honestly not sure how this product ever made it to market because the design is abysmally poor, at least for starting seedlings. First off, just about every home gardener who starts seedlings indoors has the exact same setup: a wire shelving unit, shop lights, and 1020 trays with 72 cell inserts. I, like most people (I'm assuming), chose shop lights that run the length of my shelves. After all, why wouldn't you? And of course, the lights need to be hung so that they are just 2-3 inches above the top of your plants. Well, what ends up happening when you attach these to a corner post of your shelving unit, the fan hits the lights. And if you try to position the fan outside of the shelf, it can't oscillate in order to hit every part of the shelf. The only way this fan will work for this type of setup is if you dedicate a significant portion of the shelf to the fan. But at that point, you don't need a fan that attaches to the corner post.... This thing might be perfect for grow tents but is almost completely useless for starting seeds. ... show more
