This turned out to be the perfect size for our sunroom. We decided to start our garden all from seeds this year and this works perfectly for our needs. It is slightly flimsy without anything in it but once you start filling the shelves it’s perfect. The slip over cover fits nicely and holds heat really well.     • Functional but sub-par stitching and zipper durability

Set up was easy as expected. Convenience of being able to take it down is a plus. But the stitching is sub-par in places where there could be strain caused by the flexible frames. It’s the nature of the design but a more robust and tighter stitching is needed to add to longevity. As it is my guess this will last one year with the sun and winter exposure. Not quite worth the price in my opinion. Also there is strain on the front zipper when closed because the flexible frame has a tendency to bow outward. The front opening then becomes wider and when trying to close the zipper you need to hold the two zipper edges close together. Otherwise the strain while closing will likely tear the stitching. I bought this for cold sensitive plants to use in conjunction with a space heater inside an unheated hoop house during the winter. The frame is decent enough, but the cover is very cheap. There was a small tear in it straight out of the box. It wasn’t worth the hassle of sending back though. I just put some plastic repair tape over it. When trying to put the cover over the frame I tore a much larger hole in it. It was irritating, but I figured that was my fault somehow (the plastic was too cold perhaps, but sitting in the sun hasn’t seemed to improve its workability much) so I taped it up and moved on. Since then it has ripped out of the seams in several places along the zippers for the door- there is just a cheap single line of stitching holding it to the zipper seam and it pulls free way too easily. The Velcro along the windows doesn’t extend all the way to the top of the opening so there’s about a one inch gap with nothing to block air. A couple of the ties to attach it to the frame pulled out as well when attempting to tie it down. I can’t speak to how well it would do in an unprotected location since mine is sheltered, but personally I wouldn’t dare set this up outside, especially in any area that gets any significant amount of wind. It’s not nearly sturdy enough. As far as cold protection goes, on sunny days it works great- I have to open it up to keep things from over heating. The night temperatures have been getting down to the mid-20s where I live. I have an oil-filled radiator in it that I set on level 1 (of 3) and 3/4 of max temp on the dial. From 7pm to 7am the temp inside it last night went from 60.8F to 45.5F. That’s good enough for me, but that’s also with it set up inside a hoophouse so there’s already an additional level of cold protection in place. All in all it works for what I need it for in my situation, despite the cheaply made cover with all its holes and air gaps in the windows. There was a cheaper, identical looking one of these available when I bought this one, but I paid more so I would have it in two days instead of two weeks (my darn impatience got the best of me!). If you really want this type of greenhouse, get the cheaper one and wait the couple of extra weeks. ... show more

    • 57x57x77 Green House - Excellent product, works great so far, I love it!

This is for the Vivosun 57x57x77-inch Mini walk-in Green House. It seems to be the perfect green house for my large sized gardens. My plants are germinating and growing well. It took 30-40 mins to assemble by laying the pieces on pavement per the instructions, one level at a time. Very straightforward and kinda fun. Admittedly I have an engineering mind and everything went smoothly. But I think most people could figure it out. Again, the trick is to start with the bottom level, put the connectors where they should go, then the pipes so everything's layed out. Then connect the pipes to the connectors. Then move to the next highest level, etc. Then the shelves go on and lastly the cover. The instructions were perfect, no complaints. The cover material is reinforced polyethylene which is much better than the clear PVC type. I easily fastened the entire greenhouse to a piece of plywood by drilling holes in it and using zip ties. Took around 10 mins. My feeling is it will withstand extremely strong winds with no need to tie it down. I say that after having designed and built many structures for Burning Man which withstood 60+ MPH winds. Lastly, I used a staple gun to fasten the inside of the flaps to the plywood. That way critters or large bugs can't squeeze in. The door area does leave a bit of exposed holes where bugs can enter but probably not rodents. The rats and squirrels in my yard have left it alone, so far. I put one side of the plywood floor on a 2x4 to angle it slightly. That allows water to drain out the doorway and not pool up inside which could eventually rot the floor and/or encourage mold growth. The plywood, of course, totally prevents weeds from growing inside and prevents critters from burrowing up into it. I highly recommend doing it. Alternatively it could be set up on cement, pavement, etc. But then it would have to be tied down using weights which could prove frustrating. The two windows on the side are barely enough to keep it ventilated inside on >85F degree days. It's gotten so hot inside many seedlings died when I skipped a day of watering, despite the high humidity inside. I wish it had zip-up vents along the bottom and at least one on the roof for more efficient circulation, to regulate the temperature. I have yet to see any small green houses on the market with this feature, however. I'll probably cut my own vents soon as the days are getting hotter. Also, when plants begin flowering, it will be necessary to open the greenhouse during the day (and possibly night) to allow pollinators to enter. Again, this requirement isn't directly addressed by any green house designs I've seen. Overall, I highly recommend it. ... show more
