  • Speeds up your germination time considerably. Good quality.
Size: 10"x20.75"
If you are an impatient gardener like me, you will love this thing. It really speeds up the germination time. Some seeds they used to take a week or 10 days germinating about three or four days. it seems to distribute the heat evenly without making it too hot which I guess could be dangerous. It seems to be designed well. The cord thick enough, that I don’t worry about it causing a fire. So far, it looks like it will last and provide the expected reliability for many seasons to come. Good value for the money. ... show more

  • Using for sour dough temperature management VERY ACCURATE Thermostat
Size: 20"x20.75"
I am using to manage Sour Dough Starter and Dough Proofing temperature management. The thermostat on this unit is excellent - and since the temperature sensor has a long cable, it can be placed inside the dough/starter to the bottom of the container to prevent overheating. The way it works is the thermostat controller and the heating pad are two separate devices - the pad has a standard 120 Volt plug - it plugs into thermostat controller and teh controller plugs into your wall outlet. It DOES NOT VARY the temperature of the pad - it is either full on or full off - the thermostat probe determines if Pad gets turned on or off. So, you need to place the probe in the correct place to ensure whatever you are heating doesn't get too hot or not hot enough - for Sour Dough put probe at bottom of the vessel or close to the bottom (I use glass jars/bowls) and cover with a cloth towel so it heats as evenly as possible. I also use inexpensive "Aquarium" digital thermometers with long probe cords to check my starter/dough at different depths because depending on ambient room temp and how much it fluctuates during a 24 hour period, you may have to adjust the heating pad thermostat to compensate and you may want to put a folded cotton towel under the jar/vessel so that the heat from the pad is more gradual especially in rooms that go down to low-mid 60's at night while you are trying to maintain 72-75 or higher temperature throughout the starter/dough container - u don't want the bottom to be 80 and the top 72. I learned not to put thermostat too high - if I want 75 degrees and kitchen is 65 I set temp to 70-72 cover with towel and watch the small external aquarium thermometer set in the middle of the dough and the thermostat probe that controls pad at the bottom - leave it for a few hours and check both readings - adjust as needed and use folded towel under jar if you need to raise heater pad temp just to be safe. But.. the heating pad unit probe temp reading matches my very accurate digital professional probe thermometer to 1/10th of a degree so I don't have to worry about "false/inaccurate" control of the heating pad- not bad at all. The Pad itself heats quickly but doesn't get overly hot - you can place your hand on the pad safely under full power - you don't want a pad that gets too hot. I find it raises ambient room temperature about 5-10 degrees without much of a struggle - the larger the temp difference between set temp and item/room temp the longer it will take to get there - low and slow - took about 5-7 hours to raise 1000 grams of covered dough in a glass bowl from 68 to 75 degrees with thermostat about 80% deep in dough towards bottom and temp set for 77 (bottom of dough was 77, top was 75, room temp varied from 64-72 in 24 hour period). The pad stays warmer, longer, closer to the electrical line cord end and cooler on the end furthest from the cord - as thermostat turns pad on and off during a warming cycle, the end closest to the cord warms first and then spreads to all corners but it does take time for that to happen 20-30 minutes for even heating all around. ... show more

  • LOVE
Size: 10"x20.75"
I LOVE this thing. I used it for gardening and BAKING❗️I love that I can control the temperature on it which I really like. And during the summer (for baking purposes) because it has a thermometer 🌡️, I know how much I should put the temp. at (same with winter).

  • All parts are ( Required ).
Size: 10"x20.75"
I'm sure the functionality is great but as I pointed out the first time, I can't do anything with it until I order the germination dome. I have one all picked out. This one has a better temperature control than the one I have now.

  • Good for seed starting
Size: 48"x20.75"
This heat mat has been a game-changer for my seed starting! I am a newbie when it comes to using these so I had to experiment with how long to keep them in and also how to use with the lights I bought. But I finally figured it out after many attempts and sickly looking sprouts. My seeds were dreading going in to the soil until I found these heat mats. The It's a good size, accommodating multiple seed trays, and the temperature is evenly distributed across the surface. The mat is also durable and easy to clean. It's simple to use – just plug it in and place your trays on top. I've noticed a significant improvement in my germination rates since I started using it, and my seedlings are much stronger and healthier. If you're serious about seed starting, this heat mat is a worthwhile investment. It takes the guesswork out of germination and gives your seeds the best possible start. Highly recommend! ... show more

  • Accurate and works well for yogurt
Size: 10"x20.75"
Why did you pick this product vs others?: Perfect for making yogurt around 99 degrees! I couldn’t find any reviews specifically about making yogurt, but I went ahead and gave this mat a try with the thermostat. I rigged up an ice chest with the mat on the bottom and the thermostat on a jar with some water to mimic a yogurt jar. All my other yogurt jars go in the cooler on a rack. This works incredibly well and the thermostat at least in my experience is quite accurate, as I compared it with a cooking thermometer that I also stuck in there. I am making low temperature longer ferments such as Dr. William Davis’s L-Reuteri yogurt and this enables me to make many jars at a time! I also cover the cooler with a blanket. And I live in hawaii so if your house is colder more insulating might be helpful but I haven’t topped out the heating potential of the mat so it should work fine for you too. ... show more
