The temperature control isn't very nuanced. Because it's a knobs, I expected to be able to adjust it in single degree increments but that's not the case. Not a deal breaker, just a minor annoyance. It's a little louder than I expected and the trays rattle a bit while the machine is on. I solved this by setting my husband's tape measure on the lid to weigh it down just a bit. THERE ARE NO FRUIT LEATHER TRAYS THAT FIT THIS MACHINE! None! I know because I spent hours searching. You can't even get any directly from the manufacturer. I ended up buying a set of 4"x4" silicone resin coaster molds to use instead and they work great. We've made so much stuff in the time we've had this and it's all come out perfectly. My apple budget has increased significantly, however, because my kids have me going through a 5lb bag every week to make apple chips. ... show more

    • I make jerky but it doesn't reach the proper temperature of 165.

The machine works great especially for fruit. I still make some really good jerky but most jerky is recommended to cook at 165 and this only goes up to 159. The degrees it goes up are a little wonky.

This was my first one and I believe you should try this before getting a heavy duty one like I did because this opened my eyes into making a beef jerky Business that required more abuse to the appliance so I have a lot of appreciation for this dehydrator
