I originally ordered a 85" TV to go with this mount, but the VESA mounts were so low on the 85, that even with extensions, the TV would hit the ceiling. When I shopped for a 75, I looked for VESA more in the middle of the screen. I hung this in my garage in front of my overhead door. I have a side opener, so I have open space. My rafters are 24" on center and this mount is designed for 16" on center, so I had to get creative with the mount. I spanned the rafters with two 2X4s. On that I mounted 3/4" plywood and mounted the mount to that. That extra step of adding the plywood made mounting the mount super easy. On top of that, I have a void above it, which is a great place to conceal wires. Leveling TV in down position is easy, but when it's fully retracted, the TV hung crooked. I contacted customer support, and they said that there is no solution and that is normal. I knew I could take the mount apart and change the length of a strap, but that seemed like a big pain, so what I did was I took a strip of Gorilla tape, about 1/2" wide and 10 or so inches long, and put it on the back of the low hanging side, closest to the top pulley and on the inside. This was just enough to change the diameter of the wrap as it went up and leveled it perfectly. It's a great mount for the price and I would definitely buy it again.

Fit n finish is nice. Retraction is quiet but a tad on the slow side which is fine. I have a 75” Samsung tv on the mount which is quite weighty. All in all I couldn’t be happier with the mount.

The media could not be loaded. The drop arm is not long enough to reach the Vesa mount when it is attached to a LG 84" C2 TV. It is short by around 8". Please change the product description. Edit Customer support argued that it will fit and then decided on the silent treatment. I asked my wife to buy a second one of these mounts before I used this one. They want to charge me return shipping on a mount that I believed had an accurate product description.

The media could not be loaded. Just finally installed this tv mount today. Looks amazing. It took me a while to figure out how to put it in since the ceiling joists are further apart than the tv mount. Pro: looks great Con: makes a noise when it goes up against ceiling. Sounds like its too much weight for the electric motor or screeching cause it needs lubricant? Im not sure. Also if your ceiling joists are 20 inches or further apart i dont recommend getting this cause you will have to do alot of work to make it safely hang a tv
