Summary: Practical, no-fuss desk frame with very clear instructions. I was looking for a desk frame that utilized a manual crank instead of an electric motor so I could save money, get (a little bit) of exercise, and minimize complexity. Plus, having a manual crank means I can use my desk without power. I purchased just the desk frame (without a desk top) since I wanted to stain and finish my own butcher block. I ended up purchasing a Hardwood Reflections European Walnut 6 ft. piece and used Varathane oil-based stain and a stain Varathane oil polyurethane finish (4 coats, though if I hadn't messed up it would have been 2 coats). Value: The price is competitive with market leaders like Fully Jarvis, and the quality seems to be very good so far (I just finished the desktop and assembled it yesterday). Quality: 3/4 - The metal legs are plenty sturdy. The hand crank is lightweight but works well. PLEASE NOTE: This hand crank extends, so please be aware of this when you assemble this. This is an excellent design, as it allows you to mount the hand crank such that it is out of the way under the desk when not needed, yet is instantly available when needed. The fasteners provided are of surprisingly good quality and are not cheap metal. The heads are well formed and resist stripping. The only reason I am giving three stars for quality instead of four is more of a quality control issue: the main telescoping crossbar I originally received was defective. I could extend the crossbar but could not contract it. Customer Service: 4/4 - No one wants to have to contact customer service. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I contacted Customer Service as I found them prompt and professional. I explained the problem I was experiencing with the part, and they shipped me a replacement without requiring a return of the defective part via express mail. The replacement part functioned as designed. Ease of assembly: 4/4 - The instructions are some of the best I've seen from any company. They are very clear, and provide helpful information such as the size of drill bits to use when drilling pilot holes and driving the included fasteners (screws).

I've been wanting a convertible standing desk for awhile due to working from home for long periods of time. I wanted something reliable (mechanical), sturdy at standing position, and enough room to support my 3 monitors, midtower gaming PC, and various peripherals. After searching a few models while reading descriptions and reviews, this one seemed to be sturdy and well built. It also wasn't overly priced. I also bought the VIVO Black 60 x 24 inch Universal Table Top as the desk top. It pairs perfectly, only a few holes needed to be drilled. This review is based on this pairing. The width of the table top and legs of the frame can impact performance. Here is my review: This mechanical desk paired with the VIVO table top has met my desires. The metal desk frame appears to be decent quality with a little heft to it. This is important for stability. I am 6'4'' and the desk can reach a comfortable height setting with height to spare. At my standing height, the desk does lose a tiny bit of stability but not enough to warrant worry. I fully trust it with a few thousand dollars worth of equipment. The mechanical crank is a breeze to operate and neatly tucks away. Bonus, it also doubles as a headphone hanger. The time it takes to crank this to desired height is approximately 25 seconds with a speed that doesn't make the desk shake. The crank does have some resistance. I also have this desk placed on carpet and stability doesn't seem to suffer for it. It may make leveling a bit interesting, but I was able to level the desk using the adjustable feet. Something else to consider is the customer service. I reached out for a replacement crank to experiment with creating my own motor. VIVO customer service was very prompt and respectful in helping me obtain an extra crank. Overall this seems like a good company and a good product. I am pleased with my purchase so far.

Getting right to it the underframe is really good quality and quite steady. Everything is metal and actually much thicker than what is shown in the images which is a plus because better support and super steady as I stated before. The instructions weren't tedious at all, you just gotta have the right tools and maybe an extra pair of hands helping lift and move the whole structure around. We were also quite surprised to see that the support bar at its max is at 69 inches but of course the support is flimsy but it was a surprise to see the full length, also my tabletop is 80 inches in length and 30 inches in width and this frame sets in perfectly as long as you aligned everything properly. I've also read the other reviews about the desks lowest setting being way too high and that its recommended for people 6 feet and above in height but here I'm 5'9 and using the desk at its lowest setting no problem. I can see how it could inconvenience an individual of a much shorter height but an adjustable office chair should do the job as long as it has pretty good height adjustment. This is an amazing investment if you're starting out with adjustable desk and I don't mind the hand crank neither. Speaking of the hand crank there's a little hex screw that you can loosen to extend the crank further out to get clearance, just a heads up. Overall a fantastic purchase and I'm quite happy how it turned out. Hopefully this helps someone out :D

great table, assembled nicely. extremely heavy duty so it's not as easy to move. attached to 5x3 ikea table that had threaded legs so i had to ensure the spread and distances work. In addition, with the legs in a T shape, i built up my bed with 2x4 so that the table could slide under, giving me more room. I keep this desk at one of the higher levels mainly so i can store items below; never had any issues with sturdiness. This model works just fine for something simple and i can't see this having issues supporting weight. I wouldn't stand on the table just because of two legs making it wobbly, but its fine. crank handle retracts and can be very compact; screws work very well. your attachment strength is determined on the material you fasten it to; a hardwood surface would hold this much better than Ikea particle board. See pics for all dimensions if you want to design something similar. I was a big fan of things that come apart quickly, but even disassembling this comes with 3 components: two T-legs and the table top.

I am so happy with the desk I've made using this frame. The instructions were comprehensive and clear, and the quality of the materials and they way they fit... well, I don't see that many products like this anymore... and it's was very affordable. It's really surprising that there is no cross bracing anywhere, and yet the frame is rock solid. The lack of cross braces means there is nothing underneath for my long legs to bang into. It's just wide open under there, and I haven't suffered any wobble for this privilege. Outstanding. ... and this is all before I put a 1-1/2" butcher block top on it. The top stabilizes the whole thing even more. In fact, it's so stable, I decided not to screw the top onto the frame, so I can always flip the block over and there will be no holes. I'll get double life out of the butch block in case I somehow damage the current top.

I really like this desk frame. It's narrow enough to fit the space that I have, and I was able to cut my tabletop to fit the exact width I needed. I'm happy to know that I will be able to replace the tabletop and expand the width of the frame when I move to a new home office. It was really easy to put together, very sturdy, and it goes up and down with minimal effort. I'm really happy with this purchase. I'm also happy to have chosen there are no electronic parts that will fail and this should last for years to come.

i was taken back by how well manufactured this was, if youve put together furniture before you will notice the extra steps that were taken in the design and manufacturing of this , not just for strength , but also easy of use for the consumer (me) as well as appearance. this is just the up and down part for a desk frame (no top). its very strong, sturdy and fairly heavy . as for tops i went to lowes and got a sheet of maple 3/4 inch plywood (the nicer looking stuff) for about $40. at lowes i had them rip the board to 70" x 32" (this is a large top , i run 4 monitors and multiple accessories on the desk). if you plan to mount monitors on stands id recommend buying a 2x4 at lowes and have them cut it to 69" and use this as a brace underneath in back for the stands to clamp on to.(i dont think its necessary for strength but i felt the monitor stands needed a bit more meat) then take a saw and cut a 40 degree angle on the front of the board so you dont have a sharp corner on your arm/ wrist etc. sand , clean and a perfect desk

I was about to bite the bullet and buy the Jarvis desk with manual crank for $300 but then decided to give this VIVO a try. For almost half the price, I couldn't be any happier. At standing height, it doesn't wobble at all unless I'm intentionally pushing it, and even then, the movements are so tiny it's virtually a non-issue. I bought the desk frame and paired it with an IKEA Gerton solid wood top. The final combined cost is less than the Jarvis frame alone with no top. The hand crank is awesome and runs very smoothly, not heavy or difficult to turn at all. This VIVO frame exceeds my expectation and I'm glad I gave it a chance before splurging for the Jarvis. I do not know how much better the Jarvis is, but it is definitely not twice better.
