  • Best mic stand I have seen/used for podcasting/live streaming.
TLDR: Extremely sturdy, highly posable arm, strong and wide opening clamp base, cable management compartment built into the arm, with hydraulics in the arm for easy rise and fall without lacking strength to hold heavier mics. Highly recommend. Review: I am a live video streamer. For a long time I used the Blue Yeti microphone with a weak boom arm that couldn’t actually hold the mic up and was only posable up or down. That’s what I’m coming from. The stand arrived in a solid box - no dings or dents. Everything was in prime condition and well sorted in the box. Instructions were easy to read, aside from the clamp instructions; to this day I can’t figure out where a couple parts go. I have chalked it up to: if I had a unique setup that the normal clamp couldn’t clamp to, I would use those parts. So, I left them in the box the stand came in - the stand is firmly clamped to my desk, so those parts, in my mind, are clearly not needed in my case. All the tools and parts needed to get the stand setup are included. The only odd part of the entire product is the included mic clamp. The clamp is too small to hold any traditional podcasting microphone. Maybe an SM57 or SM58 would fit, but definitely not a Blue Yeti, Rode Procaster, or any other standard podcasting/voice recording mics. This isn’t a huge issue seeing how most folks will likely get a shock mount if they are getting a good microphone - which replaces the clamp entirely. The arm for the stand is one of the most posable arms I have ever seen. With 4 points of actuation left-right/in-out, and 3 points up-down, it is extremely easy to sneak the mic right where it needs to be. I run 3 monitors on my computer which I need to have visible at all times while getting my hands to my keyboard and mouse with room to move. I have no interference from this stand in any of my movements. The stand has strong joint clamps which can manually be tightened. Once you get it where you want (if you so choose), you can lock it in place and don’t have to worry about it ever moving on you. The hydraulics in the arm make up-down adjustments easy while feeling secure even with heavier mics. The arm has a build in undercarriage for cable management (HUGE +!). Keeps the whole setup looking clean and all around professional. For anyone skeptical about the cost, I was there. I looked at other stands in this price range and higher. They all lacked the kind of mobility this stand provides. What it comes down to is putting out a little more money for something great that will do exactly what you want and more, or save a few bucks and put up with headaches that come with poor mic placement, weak booms that don’t hold the mic where you want, etc. I cringed when I clicked buy on this, but having used it, I would pay more if I went back and did it again. I highly recommend this stand to any podcasters or live streamers. ~mutepanda ... show more

  • Amazing
I initially tried out a cheaper mic arm stand thing and it was simply worthless. It came mostly broken and was unusable. This mic arm is MUCH better. It's insanely sturdy. My desk has a weird lip where the surface is flat but there's a metal bar about an inch away from the edge under the table. I was expecting to have to mount this microphone arm on my other table which is further away. However, the clamp is so big and sturdy that it's able to clamp onto the metal bar under my table and it's PERFECT. I'm so happy about that. This clamp should really fit almost any table, even if it has quirks. The assembly was a bit awkward, but once I figured it out I was able to set up everything in about 15 minutes. I am using the Shure MV7 microphone with this stand and I was able to mount that microphone into the stand without any issues or any adapters necessary. The arm itself also has cable management built in which works very well. The range of motion for the arm itself is a bit awkward at times. Moving the microphone forward and backward relative to the arm is a bit weird, which I think might be an issue for a lot of people. For myself in particular, this is not an issue since my microphone remains stationary 99.5% of the time. Aside from that minor issue, this is easily the best microphone arm mount I've ever used. The price is a bit spooky but with how sturdy everything is, and how well the clamp fits on my awkward table, the price is completely worth it for me. ... show more

  • So frakin happy with this one
The quality for the price is outstanding. It can hold a large mic like the Samson g-track pro and The VB-01 “mini voice booth” with no problems at all. It stays in position without it being impossible to adjust or swing out of the way. The materials are all top notch. Mostly metal with a few plastic covers. It has a nice cable channel in the upper part of the arm. Wish there was another on the second half and maybe a channel down the center column, but hey they got everything else right. The joints all lock down tight if you need them to, but adjust easily so you can swing it out of your way when not in use. It’s unquestionably a durable design and will hold up to frequent adjustment. Everything stays in place with no wiggles or slipping. No creaking or bouncing around and definitely no need to constantly tighten the joints. (Thankfully too, because that is one of my pet peeves about cheap arms) The base itself clamps TIGHT to the desk and the center column is solid. The height adjusts with a simple tweak of an included hex key and screw. The arms reaches easily over my standard 24-30” desk. While it could be taller alternatively you could mount the mic “upward” instead of my “drop mic” configuration and it would be fine for someone standing up. So all in all it’s basically perfect and for the price it’s unbeatable. ... show more
