The wood frame and the canvas sling is solid and sturdy. It is weathering due to direct sunlight and rain etc, but it’s still probably good for a few more years. We try to store away the hammock sling promptly each night to prevent mold on the fabric. Once or twice we accidentally left it outside overnight and mold has developed due to humidity, or morning mist or rain, which stained the fabric, even bleach didn’t help. It doesn’t bother us though, we still wash it in the washing machine and love to use it, but is not very presentable when guests are around. Other than that, would buy this again in a blink if needed. Wish they sold the sling separately for replacement. ... show more

This hammock is beautiful and appears well constructed. I was surprised at how sturdy it was for the design, I wouldnt feel comfortable swinging in it at all, but I had no reservations about laying in it and relying on it not to break and dump me on the ground. I was able to assemble it by myself, it would have been quicker with two people, but definitely not necessary. Putting it together was a bit of trial and error, as the instructions do give you the basics, but none of the detail to put it together properly the first time. My advice is to pay attention to the details and think about the rest of the build before setting anything in place in order to avoid doing it over because a part should have been flipped the other direction. Overall, I am very satisfied with the product thus far - the asthetics are charming, it is sturdy enough for my purposes, and its very comfortable. ... show more
