Features

  • BEFORE YOU BUY: Please refer to the sizing chart if unsure of fit. Note: extra space between your toes and shoe is ideal (this design protects your toes). Size: XL (US Men's: 12-13.5, Women's 13.5-14.5).
  • REDUCES PAINFUL PRESSURE ON THE TOES: Designed to minimize pressure on the toes and forefoot by shifting the weight to the heel, the Vive offloading post op shoe is ideal for protecting broken toes or diabetic foot ulcers. The dorsiflexion angled wedge shoe also promotes natural healing following bunionectomy, hammertoe or mallet toe corrective surgery.
  • EASILY ACCOMMODATES BANDAGES: Secured with two wide fastener straps, the offloading post op shoe is easily adjustable and includes two extender tabs to comfortably accommodate bandages, dressings and swelling. The post op shoe features a neutral base for use on the left or right foot.
  • DESIGNED TO PROTECT THE TOES: The wedge healing shoe features a wide, square toe box to act as a bumper, providing greater protection for sore, injured toes. Cushioning the toes and forefoot, the post op shoe is padded with dense foam for greater comfort.
  • LIGHTWEIGHT NONSKID BASE: Exceptionally lightweight, the offloading surgical walking boot base is made with a durable rubber. The rigid base is deeply textured to provide greater traction and stability on any surface.

  • Saved my Disney trip
Size: Medium
Why did you pick this product vs others?: Worked perfectly when I broke my pinky toe on the first day of our Disney trip. I was able to comfortable walk all over the parks with this boot.

Size: Medium
Used the device for 4 days so far. The ulcer on my foot seems better? Works good so far.

  • Misleading Sizing
Size: Small
Misleading Sizing – Disappointed I ordered this post-op boot based on the size chart provided, but what I received was way off from what was described. Despite following the listed measurements carefully, the boot was either too tight or too loose (depending on your experience), making it uncomfortable and unusable during recovery. It’s incredibly frustrating to rely on a product during a vulnerable time and find that the sizing information is incorrect. Definitely feels misleading—I hope they update the listing to reflect accurate sizing to prevent others from going through the same hassle. ... show more

  • Fantastic Design!!
Size: Medium
I read the reviews and decided to get this prior to bunionectomy. As others pointed out, it's important to walk slowly with the shoe out in front to avoid tripping. I did very well with this shoe and never felt pain walking in it. Once the dressing came off, I put a foam pad under the ball of foot to keep the pressure off the sesamoid bone and avoid pain. I used it for a month and it held up great. I highly recommend it. ... show more

  • I would order again.
Size: Large
Good quality boot, however for where my injury is, it just doesn't work. Came clean, no signs of prior usage. FYI I just cut a section of a pool noodle for my heel and that has been working out great!

  • Little slippery on smooth floor. Pay attention to size.
Size: Small
Only issue is the slippage. It is like a ladies’ dress shoe. Slides on slick floor like hardwood but ok on carpet. Hard plastic with no rubber. Purchased a “surgical shoe” for a foot fracture at advice of orthopedist. Urgent care supplied a boot, but orthopedist suggested shoe to increase range of motion and to prevent physical therapy to re-strengthen ankle. As suggested, wear it when short distances without crowds. Wear 8.5 Women shoe. S fits very well. When in doubt, order larger. The more shoe beyond your toe, the better the protection, but you want to keep proper offload as well. Find videos as to proper use. This isn’t “normal walk.” This is step and catch up. Focus on body position. First day hurt but friend told me to keep my body tall and slow down. My biggest difficulty beyond the slippage was training myself not to try to use only the heel as I was doing before seeking care. Get some cute socks! Everyone will see them. Or black ankle or crew socks to hide it. People I was around didn’t notice shoe until they saw my unusual gait—step, together. ... show more

  • Post op bunionectomy both sides same foot
Size: Small
I was allowed weight bearing six weeks post surgery. I started having immense pain in the toe area like someone driving a nail through my foot. I found this shoe on Amazon and ordered it. Afterward I asked my podiatrist about it and he advised against this type of shoe saying he felt they were a fall risk. I had already fallen 4 times using the shoe they gave me after my surgery. I got this new shoe and love it. You do need to get used to walking it it but it actually feels very stable to me. It really takes the stress off of my toes. I feel it grips the floor better also. ... show more

  • Functional and durable aid while you're recovering
Size: Large
I've been wearing this shoe on a daily basis for about six weeks. It's held up very well with no visible wear or damage. The shoe is very adjustable using the velcro straps. I like that the main strap over the foot can be completely removed and replaced so that a wide range of swelling can be addressed. The only negative is that the sole is a hard plastic. Great for low wear, but somewhat slippery on hard surfaces. Given my post-surgery walking speed, this isn't a big issue. ... show more
