suffering from lower back issues since 2005. Needed something to replace worn out, expensive one of these with pump. The major advantage of this item is that NO PUMP required, and has very good velcro straps. It supports lower back just as good as the expensive one I had, fits under my shirt and pants. I prefer to wear it on bare skin, then pants and belt. I want it snug to my waist as much as possible. I like the "extra" strap on the left side to further tighten going across to your right. Couple issues were: Material smells awful; had to air it out on the patio with strong winds but it still smells. Not as bad but manageable. The bottom digs into my groin sometimes and is a bit jagged Circumference smaller than I thought, i can barely stretch the velcro around my belly (6 foot, 185 pounds, 32 waist)

I am a petite person at 5’1”, 125 lbs, and this brace fits me well, in a small size. I have not used the lumbar support pad yet. There are two belts, an inner and an outer, which allows me to adjust the belt. It has slid upwards on occasion while wearing it, maybe due to the material, because I need to use it while exercising sometimes. But it is made well and I think it will last a long time.

I cut a variety of fish for a regional chain of restaurants. Some of the fish are larger and heavier than myself and I pick up and move hundred of boxes of seafood packed in ice and cases of oysters. I'm a one man department in a busy building so i do it all by myself. So if i am not lifting heavy awkward things then i am standing at a table making repetitive butchering motions for hours on end. Needless to say I get many injuries in a very tired back. My last brace was a cheap box store piece that wore out after a year of daily use. This brace by Vive I expect to last several years. It seems very high quality. The velcro is super strong, and the brace all around is tough. The first thing I noticed is the compression is evenly distributed. I think that helps it actually stay in place as well, which is nice not having to pull the thing back down constantly. It also has a removeable lumbar pad that gives an extra bit of pressure to that trouble are in the small of my back. This brace is worth it. It's worth more than they charge for it honestly. With the quality and functionality of this brace by vive makes it seem like it should have cost $40 or more. The only thing is I am a 34 waist, if I were any bigger I'm not sure if it would work the same. It seems like it was made to fit in shape to average size torso. With that said I am extremely satisfied with this purchase. A rare feeling these days. Next time I see someone with their hand on their back for relief, I will be recommending this back brace for sure.

I had almost given up hope of ever finding a back brace that worked. I tried two others and they just weren't the right design for me. When this back brace was delivered, I admit that I had my qualms. But, I held my breath and put it on!!!! It took me some time to learn how to adjust it and what was the right part of my lower back to put it on. I can sit down wearing it, but I find that I need to readjust it by pulling it up higher so the edges do not bend and cause discomfort. It helps me when I need to go out and water the lawn and also standing in front of the sink to do dishes. I have been advised to be aware that wearing a back brace might cause my back muscles to weaken, but until I can remedy the situation with my lower back pain and weakness, I am going to use it only when I need to so I am not totally dependent upon it. Thank you "VIVE" for creating a back brace that works with my body type. I ordered the largest and it works just fine with room to spare in adjustments. :)

As with any medical device, your mileage may vary. It helps keep your lower back straighter and supports it somewhat but I can't say whether it helped my strained back much. Maybe it's not expected to. The chiropractor said it was OK but didn't necessarily recommend wearing one. This does not have vertical stays or battens and will therefore allow your lower back to bend if you try. I'm a 5'6 female of average weight and do have a waist, but this is wide enough to cover the bottom part of my ribs and then starts riding up when I sit. Failing any better design I suppose I would buy it again but without another one to compare it to I can't recommend it here. It feels well made. Unfortunately it's made in China. Didn't know that when I ordered it, sigh. Could descriptions please include the country of origin?
