It's brighter than standard so the batteries won't last as long but well worth the purchase. You can easily spot the light on sunny days outside. Tip: counter turn the case so the batteries don't die if switched on by accident in your pocket

Use these on our fiber runs all the time. We have to terminate every 5 miles and test the run for signal loss. These are great to locate the correct strand and the battery holds up pretty good for the intensity that they put out. We have a 20K light that our company paid hundreds of dollars for- and this one easily rivals it in intensity and battery time. ... show more

This product is well worth the money I have been working with fiber for 6 plus years and constantly had the trouble of trying to locate a line in daylight from weaker tracers. This product is show bright you easily can see it in direct sunlight. I do agree with other people the button is very loose and could be made better but I solved that by simple wrapping a rubber band around it so it put more pressure on the button and didn't slide on and off accidently. ... show more

I have this one and the 50km one, and slightly prefer it. It looks the same, but is noticeably brighter. Red light just will not go 50km in fiber, so don't expect a miracle. I was able to get it to go 15km, it somewhere between there and 20km it went below visible. I will say it's dramatically brighter than a Fluke VisiFault, and I haven't used that thing since I got this. For the price buy several so you have spares. ... show more
