The bottom that slides to turn on and off will get hit on accident and cause the battery to die. Other than that, pretty nice. I’d pay extra for one that has a better way to turn on and off. Or simply a better way to lock it off

It’s a very good light but the cap broke the first day using it which is kind of important because cleanliness is everything when working with fiber.

Ordered my first VFL and the device would not light up. Troubleshooted for a while and had to get it replaced. The 2nd lit up but the light is extremely weak. I can’t even use it effectively for the purpose it was built. Useless. Need my money back.

The first and last VFLs in this picture are also labeled and sold as 30mW. But you can clearly see they are much dimmer than the middle two. The 3rd from the left is from this purchase. Unless it breaks very quickly, I am quite happy with my purchase and will buy more of them.

Battery better be full if you are going to need to leave it up for a couple hrs. Make sure you screw it together tight or the light will flicker or fail out. It's not a 30km light, it works up to about 9km which is about 30k ft which is still good. Very bright and easy to detect faults at shorter distances ... show more
