So here’s an idea customers might want to consider . My senior dog has been ailing and before now he never slept in a dog bed as he moves and sleeps all over the house. Thought about buying an orthopedic dog bed but ones with good ratings cost 200$ and more . I bought this mattress , cut it in half , used two thin cotton quilts to place on top and he loves them and uses them both. Cleaning is so easy. Just remove the blankets and throw in the washer! This mattress topper has changed my sleep patterns!!! Before we purchased, I was waking nightly with joint pain in hips, back and knees. We have a new mattress, but it wasn't helpful. Adding this topper was very helpful! When I took it out of the packaging and laid it on the bed, I thought, no way did they send a King size. I gently pulled on all sides every 30 minutes for an hour. It was completely perfect fit with a bit extra!!! Put the mattress protector on, and made the bed. Everyone has a different idea or feeling of what firm feels like or what is too soft… so it’s really all subjective to the individual. But maybe this will help someone make a decision. I have a very bad back and a lot of pain. All I need is a very firm mattress with something on top to soften the blow for my joints. Don’t want to sink into something that makes a hole because that also causes pain. Don’t want something that is going to create a hot sleeping area. It was very difficult to find a mattress that met all my requirements. So we purchased a very firm mattress - as in ‘hard as a rock’ - with the plan to put a mattress topper on it. Basically to create a bed that works for me. The first topper was a 3 inch and it was WAY too soft. That was returned. Then I purchased this one. 2 inches is perfect. I am not sure if it’s because of the type of foam or the thickness of the foam, but this topper doesn’t leave a dent that you have to roll out of ( I am a small person) It doesn’t get hot like the first topper did either. The first one said it was memory foam and this one says its ViscoSoft . Whatever the difference is, it’s not as hot. But, I do have two mattress covers over the top of the mattress topper. I am not sure if having two coverings over it is making the difference in sleep temperature or not. This one seems to be just right. I am not waking up all night in pain, or waking up sweating. And I feel a lot better when I get up and move around in the morning. I do not feel like I'm sleeping on a cloud… I’d never expect that from any product. But I am extremely comfortable for the first time in about a year when it was time to buy a new bed. I knew it was going to be nothing but trouble when the old bed wore out. After 1 full year, 4 new mattresses, a lot of physical pain, and 2 mattress toppers… I have finally found the right combination. I bought this topper to keep replace a topper that got too hot at night. I really wanted a cooler memory foam and this works. Minimal odor. It inflated quickly after taking it from the box. I am super happy with this purchase. It's not too soft or firm.

Unpacked easily. Foam didn't really smell bad but we let it air out for two weeks before using just in case. Bought this to use on a very firm queen mattress in a guest room while visiting relatives. Last time I tried sleeping on that mattress, I tossed and turned all night for 3 nights, getting very little sleep. I was on the fence about getting the 2 or 3 inch version because I'm a large person at 280 pounds and wasn't sure if the 2 inch would be enough. I chose the less expensive 2 inch which resulted in a major improvement to soften the firm mattress. I slept great every night during this visit. It fit the queen perfect. Didn't move around while sleeping. Room was about 73 degrees F and the foam wasn't too hot with just a cotton sheet between me and the foam. I can't review on the longevity of the topper because we do not plan to use this at home since we already have a foam mattress. It was well worth the sixty-five dollars to get 3 good nights of sleep during vacation. ... show more

Unfortunately, the product is under sized. I bought the queen size and it is more than 2 inches short on length and an inch on width. Since this was to be used on my boat on fitted beds, this topper will not work for me. Since I have carried and flown this thing halfway across the country to get it the boat, I am not too excited with the prospect of packing this thing back up for return. Disappointed. Wow! This is NICE!! At this inexpensive price, I wasn’t too sure what to expect but it was for a child who weighs 45 pounds, so I didn’t want to get too fancy but now I think I need one for our bed. It came extremely well packaged- a box inside of the box and then a tyvek wrap. The paperwork said to wait up to 48 hrs for the foam to fully expand and for any non-harmful odors to dissipate, but it popped open to the full 2” right away and there’s no noticeable smell.
