Bought these lights for our 2nd stage of growing (hot, very) pepper plants, tomatoes (i.e. San Marzano) and various greens. We've cloned cuttings from other plants, in just a couple days, easily under these lights. Yes, they're a little pricey, BUT they are 'full spectrum' lights with the Samsung LM301(x) LED's (i.e. hard to find here). These lights are great! So far we've started Bhut Jolokia's (numerous colors), Carolina Reapers, Ghosts, and Jamaican Yellow Scotch Bonnet peppers (which are fabulous!). Our first crop is so big they're needing a place to go and we just planted them (from seed) 2.5 weeks ago. Before those, we planted about (50) Marigold 'companion plants' and now they're so big we can't even put them under the lights anymore. We've got two of these lights, a single and a double. The single was fantastic, and the double is astonishing! Everything I put under these lights just takes off like a rocket!

Really Good Grow Light! 10/10! Used in a 4x4 tent and it worked great! I was going to purchase a second one and have two in the tent but one works just fine and the ballast can be mounted outside the tent so the heat isn’t inside the tent. Ballast do produce a bit of heat. The light does put off some heat as well but nothing like others with the ballast mounted on them.

Great value at $200. I settled on four of these for a 8x6 greenhouse indoors. I need the drivers external to avoid some heat. PAR meter validates their PPFD claim. Included hanging hardware is awesome. I returned other lights in order to settle on just these. Longevity I’m not certain of yet but other reviews show good promise. When I bought these the one star reviews being at 3% and under is what I look for in addition to a 4.6+ overall stacked toward 5 stars. I hang them high to cover two 8x2 lanes, one on each side. I have a 2’ wide walking path then and 32 sqft of 400-1000 PPFD coverage for assorted herb, vegetables, and fruit plants. Larger plants in higher fabric pots on 2” risers get more intensity but even my starter plants get at least 400 PPFD. I’m not tuning everything to optimal intensity but compromising coverage and cost across a diversity of good yields. Can’t test the energy efficiency claims personally but chose these for being highly efficient on paper. They’ll run Fall to Spring annually in my heated garage (~68f, coated cement with drains) and I’m hoping for no issues for many years. Three year warranty was important to me to ensure ROI; I expect 5-10 years though to not come back and edit this rating down. Or if there is a fuss about warranty claim in the three years I’ll be back here editing as well.

The xs series used to advertise using Samsung horticultural LEDs and meanwell drivers, but that seems to no longer be the case. That said, the driver and LED that they are using still seem to be high quality and efficient. Great light output with very reasonable heat production. The initial setup was easy and well written instructions helped with that. Weight is reasonable for a panel of this size and I had no problem setting it up and hanging it by myself. Included hanging hardware works well and allows height adjustment as plants grow. Some off brand drivers make an annoying coil whine noise which is what lead me to get meanwell drivers in the past, but happy to say that this viparspectra branded driver does not have that noise, and I like that it's remotely mountable so I can ensure it has some airflow to keep it running cool. Durable aluminum heatsink on panels and driver body efficiently move the heat out of the components so it can be radiated. All in all, great light for a 4x2 grow tent. All of my plants have done great under this light, with great pea and pepper production. The cost is very reasonable for the light output and high quality, even if they're not using branded components.
