    • So close... but important corners were cut, and it shows.

Generally speaking, this stand is well made. The arm is solid, and the mechanism is strong enough that it can hold the weight of a table easily without dropping. So at a base level, it works. But there are a few important reasons that I can't recommend it. First, the marketing is completely misleading. 'Compatible with 3.5-11"iPad, Kindle, iPhone,' the title brags? Not on your life. My tablet is 8.5"x11", and it BARELY fits the narrow side into this holder, even when the extended holder is open. And when it does, you have to push so hard to open the clip that I'm worried about the pressure it exerts on the screen (which, in my case, is cracked already). There's no way it could open further, so don't expect this to hold an 11" screen. Second, the arm doesn't bend past 90 degrees. That means if you use it to hold a tablet for desk use you have to be OK with it being a foot off the desk. There is no way to go lower, because the first pole from the clamp is that tall and it can't actually bend like a neck. Third, the clamp assembly is plastic, which means the entire arm wobbles every time you move the surface. I have another arm for a smaller device, which has a clamp that's metal and better integrated into the arm assembly, and it barely moves at all. This arm? Bump into the table and it looks like a bobble-head. Lastly, on a bit of an odd note, it comes with an allen wrench that's not mentioned anywhere in the instructions and doesn't do anything obvious. Maybe at least add a note that says ?you shouldn't need this, we sent it just in case" or something? So... overall, it's a good product if you expect to attach it to an extremely solid surface that's at least a foot below where you need the device, and your device is about 8" or less wide. If that's how this was marketed, life would be great. Unfortunately they set higher expectations, and didn't meet them with this product. ... show more

Needed an efficient and stable arm for my ipad to add it to my setup. I am sooo happy I got this one because it is so easy to install and it is super sleek. It fits with my setup perfectly as well as is easy to install and take down to move around as I continue to update my gamer setup. I love how adjustable it is so that I can use my phone or my iPad but primarily I use my ipad pro 11 inch with the arm. Seriously awesome addition not just for gaming but podcasting as well I feel like this one of those smaller items you NEED for any setup and it makes life THAT much easier for you. I got this product so I can use my iphone for a camera instead of my macbook for webex/zoom meetings. First, the mount is very sturdy. The joints are solid and stay in place very well. The spinning joints all “click” vs. spin free, so you may have to tweak the angle of the clamp to get it just right. No big deal. The only thing that threw me off a bit was that once you rotate the joint that let’s you break the stick in the middle, you have to rotate it back to where the creases are aligned to collapse it. (See pic). Not a big deal, but had me scratching my head for a minute. Overall, very nice product, suits my needs, five stars! ... show more

I love this! It's SO easy to use and feels very well made, which I really appreciate. It's really easy to adjust the bracket for mounting on your countertop or desk and it expands quite widely, making it very versatile. It can hold a phone or tablet, and the telescoping functionality works incredibly well. It's also really easy and intuitive to use, so it would make an excellent gift. It works great for use in my kitchen to keep my phone or iPad out of the way but hold my recipe right in view while I'm cooking. Very happy with it! ... show more

I wanted this holder in conjunction with the kindle remote so I could lay in bed in the evening and read my kindle without having to stay propped up. The stand itself is sturdy and while I thought the mechanism to attach it to stuff would be weak, it's actually quite nice. One of the reasons I didn't give 5 stars is not because of quality, rather I don't like how stiff the stand itself is. Ideally it would be maneuverable and flexible, but because it's metal rods, there are only so many positions you can move it. It took a fair amount of strength to shorten and lengthen the actual rods, so if you have arthritis or a disability this may not be the right stand for you. Otherwise, it fit my Kindle Paperwhite nicely and once I did finally get it set up on my bed frame, I was super happy. Definitely worth the buy in my opinion! ... show more
