  • AMAZING sound through my amplifier (and headphones)
First let me tell of three things that I did not like that normally I would deduct one STAR for, but I could never deduct a STAR when this turntable player produces such SWEET sound!! 1. The manual was not very clear on how to connect to an amplifier. This is ALL it said: “RCA Output: Use RCA audio cables to connect the product and other audio devices to achieve different sound effects.” “Phones output/Earphone jack: The turntable can be connected to amplifier or speakers by 3.5mm headphone jack, and you can get the 3.5mm to RCA audio converter to other audio jack.” 2. On a separate sheet was how to fix the belt that turns the turntable. I had to do it and the instructions were sufficient. My issue is why they say it came with the belt not connected: “As the turntables have been transported for a long period of time by sea, some uncertain and unpredictable conditions may appear.” 3. As this turntable is small, with the cover down, the 33 1/3 albums hang over the 2 sides of the turntable so the cover has 2 openings so it does not hit the album when it is down. All fine except it allows dust in. I am not sure what this means, but I did not get this and I see no pictures where dust can not get in. All the pictures look like what I received (see the picture I posted): “There is a removable cover on the top to protect vinyl and turntable plat. You can shut the cover shields and keep the dust out.” By the way, for anyone not smart like I was not smart, the “Bluetooth” function is only to play your music from your phone on its built-in speakers. It sounds OK, but not near the quality of a good sound system or even computer speakers with a separate base. (Like my Altec Lansing computer speakers). The Bluetooth function has NOTHING to do with playing vinyl records. I am very confused on the issue of a “Preamp”! My amplifier does not have RCA in for “PHONO” but I am not using a preamp and the sound is fantastic (and the correct loudness). And I presume this turntable player does not have a built-in preamp like others listed on Amazon or they would have mentioned it. I am using the “CD” in for the two RCA cables. Per the manual of my amplifier (Pioneer AV Receiver VSX-524-k), that is the one to use for “Analog” in. I then had to go to the on-screen display and change “CD” from the default “Digital” to “Analog” The result is that my phonographs sound truly fantastic! BTW, they also sound fantastic with my Bluetooth Headphones plugged in directly to the earphone jack. I learned something that I did not know YEARS ago when I was buying vinyl albums. The sound coming from an artist’s true album is normally much higher quality than the discounted “Hits of the 60’s” type vinyl albums. So, test the quality of this vinyl turntable player on an expensively produced album to really appreciate the sound. I started with a Beatles album. (Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band) After listening to it on this turntable player, I now really believe what I saw written when I googled it: “This is a “lossless” way to transmit audio, meaning that there's no compression involved. With digital audio, especially streaming or CDs, there's a step between recording and transmitting the audio called compression. This is the crux of why vinyl records provide better sound.” ... show more

  • As a novelty, this is a fun product, for kids to spin LP's, etc.--but it's not high fidelity
I haven't yet plugged this into a better stereo system, so when I do, I will revise this as needed. I've rated this for what it is--you get what you pay for, and this is a cheap LP player. For kids who have never played an LP, it's fun. But don't expect a high-fi sound from the little speaker in front. It does work with bluetooth, but again, why use this speaker when for less money you could get a really good bluetooth speaker? I had hoped for a digital out--I misunderstood the ad when I bought it. When I test how good the sound is when I convert it from the RC output, I will amend this review. It's wonderful that this is portable, and can be packed away and not take up too much space. It has an attractive look and reminds me of the little 45 player we had when I was a kid. Very retro. But if you want a good LP player, there are very good products out there for not that much more money. Those products are probably not going to be as interesting to kids as this one, which is why I've given it 4 stars--it's a decent thing for what it is. But it's not a cheaper alternative to an Audio-Technical or Sony turntable that you could still get for under $200. Give this to a kid in your life, not the audiophile. ... show more

  • Stayin’ Alive w/ my 45s!
Of course, we’ve all grown up and advanced in our sound systems; but wouldn’t it be a blast to dust off those ‘ole LPs and go back to enjoy the memories from our favorite vinyls? At this great price, I sure did! I was amazed by the sound coming from this vintage looking record player – yeah, it’s got the hiss between songs like my original turntable – but when I cranked the stereo speakers on, it was flyin’! If I had to tone it down, the headphone jack kept the party goin’. Still debating if I want to use/need exterior speakers. Meant to have a portable option, it’s a delicate piece: lightweight (~4.5 lbs), plastic cover, with well supported tonearm and compact function switches. If you want to be on the go with this unit, I’d suggest keeping the original box and foam, along with the stylus/needle guard. I’ll be keeping mine in one place of honor, on the shelf above all the records decades in waiting along with their priceless jackets of art. Great player! ... show more

  • Perfect for my vinyl collection!
I have an old vinyl collection from my childhood. Wasn't sure I would ever do anything with them. Then I came across this record player. Nothing fancy but it plays my records just like I remember! I have not tried the bluetooth connectivity and not sure I ever will. I was just looking for something to play my records. Simple to use and does the trick. ... show more

  • It's a nice turntable, but that's all
I don't have much music on vinyl, but I do have a few records I'd like to be able to listen to, so this seemed like just the thing. The Bluetooth connectivity is great if you want to listen to your records at a distance, but my house is so tiny I'm never more than 20 feet from the record player. The built in speaker is just fine for my uses. I love that it has three speeds because I actually do have some old 78s and some singles on 45s. I do wish this included a cd player and a cassette player. I was born in the early 70s and started my music collection in the early 80s, so I've had everything from vinyl to 8 tracks, cassettes, CDs and downloads. It would really be nice to have one machine that could play all my music. I'm sure such a unicorn exists, but it's not in my budget. Really, if it just included a CD player and was compatible with the Alexa app, that would be good enough. Most of my tapes are unsalvageable at this point. This is probably best for a vinyl enthusiast who has quite a collection, but for me, it's good enough to play the few records that I do have. ... show more

  • Excellent quality turn table
I got this for my daughter who asked for a new record player for Christmas. The one she had was pretty nice but this one blows it out of the water. Sound clarity is fantastic, it doesnt skip, it works remarkably well, and it doubles as a bluetooth speaker. I couldnt be more pleased with it.
