I like that the bulbs are exposed not only for the look of the light but the amount of light given off in the room. I purchased two of these light fixtures to replace old round basic fixtures in my entryway. One was new, the other one I received you could tell was opened and packaged back up as the stuff wasn't in the right spot and one of the little spindles was broke. I did a return and promptly received a replacement. These fixtures look great and are quality. I purchased the bulbs at a local hardware store to complete the look. I love the metal & wood look, very rustic yet modern. Wish we would have attached the cage to the base before installing.
