Paired with my Nikon Zf is a Good lens everyday focus distance. Fast and accurate low weight. Lose one star due to error between manual focus and automatic focus sometimes until you upgrade via usb c to firmware 1.03. After that it’s done works flawlessly.

A great lens for night sky photography. All areas of the image are very sharp except for the extreme corners and that is pretty normal for an ultra wide angle lens. Even wide open there is almost no coma effect. Very pleased with this lens.

I bought this lens several months ago and have put it through some tough tryouts. For reference, I don’t usually use non Nikon branded lens. Several brands have really let me down, wanted my money. This lens is different. It’s light, well made, takes filters easy, it has the illuminated settings window which is super useful in low light and the aperture ring. I’ve grown quite fond of this lens and have used it in a variety of situations. Including desert sky/landscape, concert music festival, editorial assignments this lens has performed flawlessly and is a joy to use. I’ve paired it with my Nikon Z9 but I am sure no matter the camera it will perform just as good. The company packages it well and I can tell they take great pride in the manufacture of this lens, even though it is deemed a bargain lens. Purchased the 28mm f1.8 Z new. Updated the firmware and was very disappointed in the minimum focus distance and auto focus in dim light. Perhaps I was asking too much but I sent it back.For the money Meike makes better lenses than Viltrox for Nikon Z. I will not be purchasing another Viltrox lens.

extremely good value for what it is. definitely has its cons such as very aggressive vignetting, and some minor defects in the lighting, but for $130, can’t complain. autofocus is quick enough for me and it is very lightweight. another small complaint is there is not aperture adjustment, but again for this price, it’s a barebones lens that’ll get the job done. photos shot on a nikon z5 ... show more
