  • Such a great lens
*: 85mm F2.0 EVO Full Frame
Very impressed with the build quality of this lens and the quality of the photos that it captures. This lens is so small that it reminds me of an apsc C lens. I was expecting it to be huge but it is smaller than my 50mm 1.8 S Z lens from Nikon. Anyway, it is lightweight, balances well on the Nikon ZF. It feels like it’s made of metal, I love that you have the option of “de clicking” the aperture ring if you choose. There is a custom button on the lens as well. The lens is bright, fast to focus and sharp at F2. I really like this lens. I can’t wait to use it in more settings. Viltrox is doing an amazing job creating lenses. I hope they make a 135mm F2 version some day! Or some type of standard zoom at F 2.8 or F4 for Full frame. If you’ll are looking for a small portrait lens for your Nikon Z body that doesn’t hurt your wallet. Jump on this lens. It’s amazing. Update the firmware first thing, I noticed that sometimes my Nikon ZF would not recognize the lens right away. The screen would stay black and you could hear the lens spazzing. I updated it when I got home, I’ll report back if the problem persists. ... show more

  • Great budget portrait lens
*: 85mm F2.0 EVO Full Frame
This is what a budget oriented prime lens should be. It is a great price compared to the Nikon version. There is some vignetting, but it gives a good look to the images. For a focal length that is aimed at portraiture work, it is very sharp in the center and has a nice falloff for the bokeh. The lens is light and mounts well on my Z6. And it has a weather sealing gasket at the back, which the Nikon 1.8S does not. Overall a great lens to pick up. ... show more

  • Excellent value for money / Don't forget to update the firmware
Love the size, build quality, and value for money for the whole Viltrox APS-C range for the Z mount. I own 23mm F/1.4 and 33mm F/1.4; both are compact and fun to use, especially if you like to stay in aperture priority or manual modes. By the way, the 33mm lens did not work with Z50 firmware version 2.50 out of the box. The camera was complaining about dealing with a non-CPU lens. Updating the lens firmware to v.1.06 did the trick. Don't forget to update the firmware when you get the lens! What you get: * Excellent sharpness * Fast AF eye detection on Nikon Z APS-C * Small size * Excellent build quality - all metal lens * Excellent look and feel * Shallow depth of field What you don't get: * Optical stabilization (mind the shutter speed) * Weather sealing of any kind (stay out of dusty and rainy situations) It's not an S-line lens, but it is an excellent alternative for Z50 and ZFC. Once Nikon adds in-body image stabilization to their APS-C cameras, the lens will be even better value. ... show more

  • Hard to beat
*: 16mm F1.8 Full Frame
Viltrox 16mm f/1.8 Z: Great Value Ultra-Wide Prime The Viltrox 16mm f/1.8 Z for Nikon Z mount is a well-regarded ultra-wide lens offering impressive sharpness, even wide open at f/1.8. It boasts solid metal construction with weather sealing and features like a de-clickable aperture ring and an LCD screen. Autofocus is fast and quiet. While there's some vignetting at f/1.8, its strong optical performance and feature set at an affordable price make it an excellent choice for landscapes, astrophotography, and more. ... show more

  • Good lens at a good price.
*: 35mm F1.7
This is coming from a non expert on photography. I got this lens for my son, who is starting to get into photography as a hobby. He got a Nikon Z7 for Christmas and was looking for a prime 35mm with a low f/s. The Nikon lens was a little out of his budget, so we bought the VILTROX after seeing good reviews about the brand. The lens arrived in perfect condition. It's lightweight and easy to use. Best of all, it was a fraction of the price of the Nikon lens. In my non-professional opinion, I think it takes great pictures. My son seems to be pretty happy with it. ... show more

  • Almost perfect.
*: 135mm F1.8 Full Frame
Image quality is as good as it gets. I found no CA, excellent bokeh and good overall flare control. It would be a perfect portrait lens for static subjects. The only issue is that it misses focus quite a bit when subject is moving at just moderate speed. I expected it to be sluggish for fast action, but it is just a bit too slow to focus for my needs. ... show more
