I am using this lens on a Sony A6700 and very happy with the results... especially for the price! It focuses fast and gives a good image. Nice to have a good bokeh effect with this relatively short lens. The body is plastic, but it feels good and seems very well made, but still light weight.

This lens truly impressed me by punching way above its price point. All of the professional reviews are right: this is truly stellar image quality in a compact, fast lens package. The autofocus is really great too: I can't believe it works as well as it does for such a low price. The only downside is no weather sealing, but at this price no one does that, so just something to be aware of more than anything. Highly recommended. ... show more

The Viltrox 25mm f1.7 has excellent optical quality which is surprising at this low price point. I have had no focus issues using it with my Fujifilm X-S10 with IBIS. This lens is sharp even at f1.7, but I typically I shoot at f2 with this lens. The only optical issue I found was noticeably softer results when shooting at close distances. The built quality is plastic and very light but OK with a metal mounting ring. There is no weather sealing though. I have four Fujinon zoom lenses but this is my only prime lens. I wanted at least one f2 lens for low light and this lens does that for me. It's a useful addition to my lens set and glad I bought it. ... show more

Ordered a brand-new lens but received an open-box unit with missing accessories. The black “void/open” seal had clearly been broken, and the package looked like a return. The lens also arrived without a front cap, and there were visible scratches on the mounting ring, indicating that it had been used or tested before. I don’t mind purchasing open-box items, but being charged full price for a new product and receiving an open-box lens is unacceptable. Unfortunately, I can’t return it because I urgently need it for an upcoming trip. However, this experience will make me reconsider the brand’s reliability and honesty in the future. I’m also not sure if this is because it was previously opened, but the mounting ring feels unusually stiff and offers more resistance than normal. The image quality is fine, but the autofocus speed is slower than I expected. Update ( after customer service reached out to me and experience during the trip): The focusing ring feels a bit tight, and compared to the Fuji X series, the build quality clearly reflects its budget-friendly plastic price point. The f/1.7 aperture is also not quite enough for a 25mm lens, in my opinion. I’d recommend going for at least f/1.2 if you want better performance. At f/1.7, the sharpness can feel a bit soft I received messages from customer service, but the first two replies came across as quite arrogant and pushed all responsibility onto Amazon or even custom. As a customer, I don’t care who shipped the item, I care about the product’s quality. The reason I avoid open-box lenses is because they can have early-stage fungus or moisture issues that aren’t visible right away. Although the after-sales team eventually became more proactive, their tone remained firm and they kept shifting responsibility instead of addressing the real concern. And they offered a cleaning kit if i keep the lens, well, that's very generous for paying 20% more to get a "open box " as " new. I’ve decided to return the lens and switch to the Fuji series. This is very disappointing, considering how much I loved my Viltrox lenses for my Leica. After this experience, I won’t be considering this brand again.
