Growing up, my father always had a broad variety of screws, nuts, bolts, etc. out in the garage. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, and I do the same. Every workshop should have them. For the money, this is great assortment of standard US (i.e. not metric) nuts, bolts, and washers. The product came very well packaged in foam, no cracks or irregularities in the plastic storage box. The box itself is sturdy enough, and a map of the contents is included on both the exterior and the interior the lid. This might seem a minor detail, but organization and precision are obviously important in hardware. Knowing exactly what size is in which compartment helps avoid the annoying hit and miss search for the right fastener – if they hadn’t included the map, I would have tried to make one myself. I can’t say much about the quality of the metal, but it appears to be exactly as advertised. A well deserved five stars.

I’ve ordered these types of hardware sets before and sadly many of them show up with cracked or broken cases. Not this time. This set arrived in pristine condition despite its weight packed in a cardboard box with foam cushioning on all sides. That’s a plus. The set itself is great. Unlike some sets that are metric and thus not compatible with a lot of US-made products, this is an SAE (English) set which covers three thread sizes: ¼-20, 5/16-18, and ⅜-16. Each size is also available in five different lengths. And for each size, both lock washers and flat washers are provided along with nuts. These nuts and bolts and washers are steel (which is much stronger than stainless steel). The downside is they are more likely to rust. However, these parts have been zinc-plated in order to retard oxidation and corrosion. This set is ideal for a handyman, DIYer, or part-time mechanic. PROS: - Well-packed - Over 500 pieces - SAE (English) sizes - (3) Different thread sizes - Both flat and lock washers - (5) Common lengths for each size - Nice storage bin with removable dividers - Much more affordable than buying hardware individually or in small sets CONS: - None that come to mind. Overall, I’m pleased with this set and will be using these parts for repairing lawnmowers and a snowblower and other similar equipment around the house.

I have a relatively expensive collection of nuts & bolts in organized bins by Lawson. It is an industry standard for quality hardware. I'm starting to run out of the most common sizes (1/4, 3/8, 1/2). I acquired these as a necessary refill. I did a side by side test against some Lawson hardware. They passed. As many of us know, it's pretty common to break or strip cheap, Chinese bolts. I was unable to do that with these. I utilized a bench vice and 1/2 drive ratchet. I tightened some of the nuts on to some of the bolts. I was unable to break or strip any of them, so they passed the test in my book. I don't see them being a problem on any of my projects. I would recommend.

This is a nice assortment of SAE bolts, nuts, and washers in the 1/4, 5/16/ and 3/8 sizes. It doesn't include anything smaller or larger, although smaller sizes would be useful. Lengths range from 1/2 to 2 inch. Everything is sorted by size and packed conveniently in a compartmentalized plastic case. No more scrambling to find matching nuts and washers. All bolts have a hex head, thereby requiring a wrench or nut driver. It's a nice assortment to keep in the shop when you'll know you need various bolts in the future but don't know what sizes.

If you are an avid hobbyist or DIYer, you’ll really like this assortment of nuts and bolts. The collection of three popular sizes in various lengths is very well organized in a convenient storage case. Each row of the case represents a specific bolt size in multiple lengths with the washers and nuts conveniently stored at the end of the row, eliminating the guess work for the right size. The bolts and the plating are of good quality with no grinding or rough spots felt while threading on a nut. My only complaint is that the storage case is not wide enough. Making the case a bit wider would allow for additional bins so washers and lock washers would not have to share storage locations.

As assorted nut/bolt/washer sets go, this one is a definitely worth purchasing! A few key highlights: - At the time of this review, this set is $49.99 and there is a $5 off coupon available for it (bringing the final price down to $44.99). I spent some time looking for the cheapest alternatives of equal quality and could not purchase the bolts (let alone the nuts, washers, and lock washers) independently for less than $61. I also compared similar sets and the cheapest I could find was $57, but it included fewer nuts and bolts than this set. The bottom line is that this set is priced very well! - The quality of each piece in this set is excellent! The thread sizes are accurate and consistent and I did not find a single flaw in any of the pieces. - The set arrived packaged securely and no pieces were missing. Cons: - Truthfully, the only con that I could find was that one of the clasps on the plastic box was broken off upon arrival. Since this set is packaged very securely, this likely happened during manufacturing/packaging. I do not view this as a major issue and don't feel like it's a reason for decreasing the five-star rating that this product has earned.

Paying about ten cents an item to keep on hand a great selection of nuts, bolts and washers. The case is more than adequate for permanent storage on the shelf or in the truck toolbox. As some reviewer noted there are more bolts than washers and nuts for each size but it’s easy enough to buy boxes of nuts if you find yourself using a lot of an item. It’s just really handy to have a selection on hand, it’ll save trips to the hardware store for a few nuts and bolts to finish a project. I’m quite happy with the quality and selection, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
