    • Awesome Shower Doors!
These doors are both impressive to look at, and of high quality construction. They certainly cost a pretty penny, but we are glad we choose these over models that are a quarter of the price. The shower door glides very smoothly along the top rail with minimal effort, and there are brakes/stops to prevent any chance of slamming the door open or shut and damaging it. The glass is thick and free of bubbles or imperfections. Now, all that said, there are some downsides to these doors. Because they are so great looking, and because they will become the focal point of your bathroom, you'll want to keep them clean looking. If your water has any hardness at all, this means taking a squeegee and towel to them after EVERY USE. This is quite a commitment. We've managed to make it part of our routine for the last month, and I think we'll stick with it, but it's definitely not for everybody. According to the instructions these were supposed to be installed by a licensed professional. We didn't look into finding a licensed Vigo shower door installation expert, if such people exist, and installed it ourselves. This was not difficult, but a little tricky for a number of reasons. First, the instructions aren't as clear as they could be. For example, they don't point out that you'll need to put the sliding door inside the shower enclosure before installing the fixed panel. Maybe this is common sense to everyone else, but we just followed the instructions sequentially, and halfway through the installation, we found we had to take everything back down. Also, the doors weigh about 80 pounds each and they are massive, so you can't do this on your own. Bear in mind that the supporting bar, which takes all the weight of the sliding door, must be attached to the house framing, which in our case was behind the tile of the shower wall. You'll need special drill bits to drill through tile. A quick word about Wayfair; they offered free shipping (a big plus) and used YRC to ship the doors. When I called YRC to ask about the delivery details, they told me that it would be my responsibility to get the shower doors off the truck. I was surprised, and unsure if we'd be able to do it (shipping weight was 250 lbs). However, the YRC deliveryman removed the doors on a pallet using a lift system and then offered to wheel the pallet into our garage. We were very impressed with his customer service, and glad that he wasn't literal about the terms of delivery. ... show more

This is my second install of a Vigo shower glass. The first one was just a half glass. I was impressed how all of the parts were clearly labeled in the package. I'm not sure if they have redone the instructions since some of the other reviews, but the instructions I received were clear and had good pictures. Door was super easy to level and adjust. Rolling mechanism is Butter smooth. For how heavy the glass is, it could probably use a soft close feature. ... show more

I LOVE IT! it looks great in the bathroom, and it saves a lot of space(sliding door). It has an elegant look, and value to the whole house not just the bathroom. it came in less than 4 days after ordering, very well protected package, and as instructed by Amazon, the driver opened the package for me to assure me that it is safe and not damaged. It took 1 day to install, and once it was up, it is very very sturdy, no noise, does a great job keeping the water in, but do not have the water directly aiming at it, it is not made for that and it will not keep the water from escaping, after all water will find away around unsealed joints. The max space this door will cover is 70 inches, my bathroom was 73 inches wide, I had to buy two white sturdy plastic material to fill in the spaces and the door currently is fixed to them. (see image). The last thing i want to add, is that the seller was kind enough to issue me the difference in price (it dropped $150 after 2 weeks) when I asked him to do so. No body does that everyday! I end up paying $1050 which I am happy with. ... show more

    • Beautiful sturdy door - tricky to install

I love the look of this. It is beautiful. It is very sturdy and well made. The slide seems very nice. I hired a professional (after booking installation through Amazon and having that cancelled by Amazon. Apparently, no one in my area was willing to install it for that price). It took our professional installer 6 hours because our walls were so out of alignment. It is horizontal at the top but it ended up that the horizontal plane from bottom to top was misaligned Cush that the top of the shower door leaned into the shower. This messed up the way the door functioned. Our installer fiddled and futzed until her got the door to roil smoothly. The door now won’t stay open and slowly rolls shut in its own. That’s much better than the alternative. I bought the door because of high reviews for quality and fully agree. I also bought it because it has out of plumb alignment on both sides. Let me start by saying that I have very high standards for quality. This door fully delivers for what is considered a "luxury home" quality design. The door was packaged very well, and was 271lbs (total) delivered on a pallet via freight. Installation was not complex, just physically challenging as a one-man show. The manufacturer did an excellent job of incorporating several methods for adjustment. Leveling the doors was a breeze, and with natural slate tiles, none of my edges were consistent. I am definitely pleased with this purchase, and will vouch for the high degree of quality and precision that was put into the manufacturing. For anyone interested in the technical specs of my particular installation, my shower installation width was 67 7/8". I ordered the 64"-68" wide model (VG6041STCL6874) which gave me around 2" of overlap between the two panes. A threshold is included in this installation for the moving panel; however, I have not yet installed it because I have a sloped shower curb, and I first wanted to see how well it managed water running off the door. 5 out of 5, would absolutely purchase again! ... show more
